The Aegean Coast region
There are excellent beach facilities at Altinkum on any of the resorts 3 great beaches. The name Altinkum itself means golden sands. We are nearest the second beach (15 minute walk) which has watersports and pedaloes. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for hire and there is large choice of bars and restaurants nearby.
Altinkum is close to many fascinating historic sights. In the nearby resort of Didum is the temple of Apollo where the famous snake-adorned head of Medusa stands. A longer daytrip can take you to Ephesis, the best reserved classical Roman City.
Also Visit Dalyman and Turtle Bay. Watch the baby turtles scurry to the sea. The National Park is 20 minutes drive away with spectacular scenary.Near Altinkum's 3rd beach there is a ranch where horse safari trips can be offered. There is also scuba diving and boat trips galore.
The Aegean coast wher Altinkum sits has an average of 12 hours daily sunshine during the summer months with temperatures often rising above 30 degrees in July and August.
