The spacious lounge is furnished to a high standard in an elegant Madrileños style with flexible seating arrangements, to ensure a memorable experience.
Full width glass doors from both the dining and living areas lead to a large, full width, sun drenched terrace with a dining area for al-fresco meals, matching cane furniture for relaxing & sun-awnings. • • Sony 32" LCD TV with Philips 3.1 Home Theatre System with BBC, ITV, Spanish & many other European channels, plus CD & DVD player.
• On the upper terrace there are 3 adjustable cane sunbeds with cushions, matching side table & umbrella. Both terraces have terracotta wall lights.
• Lightweight aliminium loungers are provided for use by the pool.

The kitchen has marble worktops, ceramic hob, eye level microwave/grill and fridge-freezer, leading to a utility room with sink and washer/dryer and clothes airer. Additionally, there are 6 lightweight chairs for use by the pool, pool towels provided.

Villa Gadea is built on an undulating site and the apartment is set on a rise. You can walk to the beach along paths (with some steps) that meander through the development or via a quiet private road. The grounds cover a large area and there is direct access from the development, through private gates, onto the secluded L'Olla beach. Each building has its own dedicated pool with underwater lighting. There are children's playgrounds, one behind the beach and one beside the Villa Gadea hotel.
Hotel, Spa, Gym, Tennis & Golf
Directly beside Villa Gadea is the 5* MELIA VILLA GADEA HOTEL which is open to non residents. The hotel has a luxury Thalasso spa & gym; restaurants & bars overlooking a large organic tiered swimming pool. Golf is available nearby. The coastline and bays around Altea provide excellent marina facilities. All types of water sports & sailing schools with hire and tuition available are available nearby. For those who like to enjoy the the coastline from the sea, there are many different boat excursions up and down the Costa Blanca.

A deposit of 30% is required on booking. The remaining balance, plus €300 refundable security deposit, is required 8 weeks prior to date of arrival. The security deposit will be returned to you within 10 days of departure, less any deductions for breakages or losses.
We provide: bed linen, towels, tea towels, kitchen towels, pool towels, additional towels for the garden loungers, lightweight loungers for the pool. Weekly linen change and maid service.
SUPPLEMENTS APPLY: Air-con/heating, Jacuzzi, late arrivals, extra guests. Please ask.
CLEANING: the apartment is professionally cleaned prior to each let, and by arrangement during lets. Extra maid service available. The final clean is charged at €85.

The Costa Blanca, on the Mediterranean coast of Spain, is one of the most beautiful regions of the entire Iberian Peninsula. The 'white coast', takes its name from the endless miles of beautiful sandy beaches which stretch from the Denia in the north to Torrevieja in the south.
In the north, a ridge of mountains runs parallel to the sea creating stunning coastal scenery and a unique micro-climate. The area enjoys more than 315 sunshine days a year and an average temperature of 18-19C. It is easy to see why the World Health Organisation described it as having one of the healthiest climates in the world. Thousands of foreigners come here on holiday, fall in love with the place and make it their home.
The area also attracts wealthy "Madrileños" who buy second homes here to escape the blistering summer heat of the Spanish capital.
Travelling south from Spain's second city of Valencia, home to the stunning City of Arts & Science, you reach Denia, a lovely town dominated by an impressive castle, with a bustling commercial centre, delightful old port and a thriving tourist industry. Crossing the impressive Montgo mountain you arrive at the resort of Javea.
Below this is the small and very pretty fishing port of Moraira with its modern yacht marina and hillside developments of whitewashed holiday villas. The town of Calpe is a modern beach resort but it has an attractive old quarter and the distinctive Peñon de Ifach rock which dominates the skyline for miles around. Next we arrive at Altea, called by the painter Miro 'the jewel of the Mediterranean'. It is one of the most beautiful towns on the Costa Blanca with its steep, winding, medieval cobbled streets leading up to the blue-domed church and plaza which affords one of the best views in the region.
Approximately 12 klms south of Altea is Benidorm the party capital of the Costa Blanca. And next to it is the pretty picture-book town of Villajoyosa, largely overlooked by foreign tourists. And finally, the wonderful shopping city of Alicante.
The Altea / Villa Gadea area
The cosmopolitan village of Altea is one of the most charming and fascinating on the Costa Blanca. Along the esplanade interesting boutiques and shops jostle with restaurants and bars. Narrow lanes of whitewashed houses and gourmet restaurants wind up the hill to a cobbled square with bustling pavement cafes overlooked by the distinctive blue ceramic domes of the church. In summer the old town is totally pedestrianised and the streets around the church are taken up with arts and crafts stalls where local artists exhibit their work. As well as the crystal clear sea and blue flag beaches, the area has plenty of activities within easy reach to fill a family holiday full of fun and excitement:
Terra Mitica – magnificent theme park where ancient civilisations come to life;
Aqualandia – water park with rides;
Mundomare – marine park with dolphins;
Terra Natura - journey through exotic worlds;
Fonts de Algar - natural spring where you can bath in rock pools and climb up waterfalls.

We loved this apartment so much that we returned for a second year in a row. The most striking feature upon entering the apartment is the amazing view. It is situated on the third floor (reached by lift) and has a view directly over the pool and of the sea beyond. There is a large balcony on the lower level with a small dining table at one end and a comfortable seating area with coffee table at the other where we spend many evenings relaxing and where we ate all our meals while in the apartment. The apartment is well laid out with three good sized, comfortable bedrooms and a spacious living area. There are three bathrooms which are fitted out to the highest specification, two of which are equipped with a bath. It is very tastefully decorated throughout. The level of service we experienced while staying in this apartment was excellent. We were met by Barry, the owners representative on site and he showed us around and gave us information on the area. There was a problem with the automatic blinds during our stay and with the washing machine on the second occasion both of which were attended to promptly by Barry who was contactable by phone at any time. The local community area was quiet and felt very safe. The pool area was always well kept and on many occasions we had it to ourselves although I suspect that it gets a little busier in mid July/August. We felt confident enough to let our two older children (aged 6 and 9) walk down to the pool by themselves as it was such a short distance and there was very little traffic within the complex. We used the pool mainly as the beach was stoney and not comfortable for sunbathing.There is a little bakery within 10 or 15 minutes walk (on the way into Altea) which we frequented to buy sweet and savoury treats for breakfast/ lunch. There are a few nice restaurants within walking distance but the majority of the time we drove up to the old town where you are spoiled for choice with restaurants, the views are beautiful and where there is a very lively atmosphere. I would say a car is advisable while staying in this apartment. This is a beautiful part of Spain and there are some lovely daytrips which necessitate a car. I would highly recommend a stay in this apartment and would love to do so again myself. |
