If you are looking for sightseeing, sporting or tourist activities you will be spoilt for choice here in one of Spain’s most popular leisure-filled regions. You can pick from theme parks and nature reserves, enchanting caves and waterfalls. Costa Blanca golf courses and watersports fill the coastline, along with a wide range of excursions –making it an ideal destination for a family holiday. Explore inland villages, vineyards and fragrant citrus groves, or visit the historical churches dotted throughout the region. Travelling between the Costa Blanca’s resorts and towns is easy: Good road networks make car journeys stress-free, and buses are both frequent and inexpensive.


Altea is a picturesque little fishing village tucked amongst the cliffs. It has a mutitude of steep narrow streets full of tempting craft shops, boutiques, bars and bougainvillea tumbling down from the blue-domed church to the attractive palm-lined esplanade. Here you can try out watersports or visit the famous Tuesday market on the seafront. Due to the spectacular scenery, it is patronised by the artistic community, which is evident in the abundance of art shops and galleries.

Altea Hills is known as the ‘Mini-Marbella of the Costa Blanca’, with its marina packed with expensive yachts and its top class golf course.

Beautiful sandy beaches are just a 10 minute drive along the coast to Calpe, where you will also find shops, bars & resturaunts.

View Alicante from the dizzy heights of the ancient Castillo de Santa Barbara, then take an evening stroll along the palmshaded Explanada, stopping off for tapas and Paella Valenciana (the local speciality)

Find a fiesta and join the party, whether it’s a mock battle between Christians and Moors, or Fallas (bonfires) where giant effigies are paraded and burnt Join Romans, Ancient Greeks and Egyptians at the spectacular “World of Myth” Terra Mitica theme park

Head to the cool Sierra de Aitana mountains and visit the mighty Moorish castle of Guadalest

"Our family of 5 had an amazing time at this beautiful apartment with fabulous views."

The apartment was so spacious our 3 teens had more than enough room.It was spotlessly clean ,beds were really comfortable as was lounge.Outside space was incredible ,such a large balcony we could all relax on it in the sun ,but there was always some shade which was welcome also.So big, outside table and chairs for 6 at one end and 4 sun loungers at other.So great to be able to see and speak to our teens in the pool from the balcony.Pool gorgeous ,so clean ,lovely views,shady spots and never busy .We hired a car to explore the region ,recommend Fonts D'Algar waterfalls ,Calpe beaches,Altea promenade for ice cream.,Good supermarkket nearby .Totally relaxing . When booking, we were very pleased that the owner rang us to confirm things ..Great washer and dishwasher that were usefull for us We left a stripy beach parasol and extra beach mats in the garage for whoever wanted them .Had such a great time .Even saw incredible fireworks over Altea from down the street .Loved every minute .Intend to book again for 2013.

"Fantastic, elevated position in a gated community, spacious and great for the kids"

We had a fantastic holiday here. The climate allowed us to eat outside everyday and the apartment was spacious for 8 people (4 adults and 4 children). The kitchen is well appointed with a utility area at the back. Convenient indoor parking with lift, which was helpful with shopping. The pool was really clean and because there are only around 8 apartments in the building (I think) it was never crowded. A car is essential as it is in an elevated position within a gated resort community. The Hotel complex at the entrance has facilities you can use at a cost. The nearest supermarket is very well stocked and only a 5 minute drive away. We found that the beach at Calpe was beautiful and clean - the nicest local beach and Altea town centre has a lovely hilltop old town with some nice restaurants. Altea Hills is equally spaced between about 10-15 mins in each direction. 20 min drive on the motorway from Benidorm for a lively nightlife. On arrival, I advise you arrange to be met by the agent as you come off the highway, as finding the actual address would be almost impossible otherwise even with a sat nav.
