This spacious and luxurious Villa is built to a high standard with stunning views of the surrounding mountains, the sea and Altea hills at each level and from every room. It is situated in a secluded location and comprises a large fully self contained Apartment on the ground floor and a spacious House on the floors above.
The Apartment accommodates up to 4 people and offers two double bedrooms, an open plan living/dining area with American style kitchen, and a shower room. At the front of the Apartment is a large terrace and garden accessed by gated steps down from the pool terrace and/or via a separate flight of steps directly from the drive.
The House accommodates up to 8 people and is built on three levels with three/four exceptionally large bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a generous open plan living space with American style kitchen plus separate utility area, dining area and lounge. There is a large solarium on the top floor, extensive terraces at other levels and an 8 x 4 metre private pool. The pool can be heated at an extra charge to cover the additional electricity required for heating.
The property has a private driveway down to the Villa with parking for several cars. At the entrance there is a remote control electric gate and separate intercoms to the House and Apartment.
Terraces on each level of the villa provide both open and shaded areas and gas bbq's are provided. Remote control Samsung air conditioning units are fitted in the lounges and each of the bedrooms. Whilst we do not make any extra charge for the air conditioning we do request that it be used responsibly during your stay.
You will be impressed by the quality of furnishings and equipment and the attention to detail. You will also see that careful thought has been given to ensure your safety and security. The tiles around the pool and the terrace steps are anti slip. Since it is situated in an exclusive residential area not served by public transport we strongly recommend the use of a car.
The local village of Altea la Vella is 3km away where you will find various restaurants, shops, a chemist, post office, banks, etc where you can get all your needs. The mainly Spanish seaside town of Altea, dominted by it's beautiful blue domed church in the old quarter, is about 6-7 kms away. The famous resort that is Benidorm is about 15 minutes drive away and there are numerous golf courses, water parks, theme parks and sandy beaches within easy reach.

In more detail the house has a spacious lounge with log burning fireplace; a dining area seating 6-8 people; an open plan kitchen with built in halogen hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and a utility area housing the washing machine, tumble drier and american style fridge/freezer. All the crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking utensils you need are supplied.
There is a guest shower room/w.c which is ideal for taking a shower before/after using the swimming pool. Upstairs from the living accommodation is a roof terrace with table & chairs and sun loungers and magnificent views down to the sea and up to the mountains of Sierra Bernia. Downstairs from the living accommodation leads to the master bedroom suite with a super king size double bed and en-suite shower room with twin wash basins, shower, w.c. & bidet. There is also an annexe room to the master bedroom which can be made up with 1 or 2 quality 'Z' beds. A further double bedroom and twin bedroom share the main family bathroom with bath, separate shower, twin wash basins, w.c. & bidet. All the bedrooms in the house have direct access to the swimming pool terrace.
The apartment is situated on the ground floor of the villa and consists of two twin bedrooms, a spacious louge with dining area, open plan kitchen with built in hob & oven, microwave, washing machine and fridge/freezer. The shower room has twin wash basins, shower, w.c & bidet. A large terrace to the front of the apartment provides additional outside dining and sun loungers for relaxing.

Each level of the property has shaded or open terraces with sun loungers and outdoor chairs. The terrace attached to the living area of the house has a gas bbq, outside sink and extendable dining table and chairs. Next to the swimming pool is a spacious terrace with a remote controlled awning to provide shade if needed. To the front of the apartment is a wide terrace, again with sun loungers, dining table & chairs and a gas bbq. The gardens are filled with attractive flowering shrubs, fruit trees and palm trees.
We have been letting the villa for holidays since 2007. We provide a handbook for our guests which gives details about the property and its facilities, the local area, maps, local market days, suggested outings, etc. We also ask our visitors to complete a questionnaire at the end of their stay since feedback is very important to us. All of our guests have commented that the property and facilites are either good or excellent and they would recommend us to others.
We strongly feel that the price quoted is the price you pay. There are no hidden extras for cleaning, electricty, gas, etc. We also decided against taking a damages deposit and rely on the honesty of our guests with regard to the odd broken glass or plate.
The property is cleaned between each stay and fresh linen and towels provided. For stays of two weeks or longer clean linen and towels are provided on a weekly basis.
50% of the sum due is required to secure the booking with the balance due 8 weeks prior to arrival. Payment can be made in pounds sterling (to First Direct in the UK) or Euros (to Banco Sabadel/Solbank in Spain).
The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
The Costa Blanca is considered to be one of the most beautiful areas of Spain with its wide open plains to the south of Alicante and it's green and wooded mountains to the north of Alicante. The 'Comunidad Valenciana', one of the autonomous regions of Spain is steeped in history. Settlement by the Moors in this area of Spain several hundred years ago landscaped the mountains with stone edged terracing for growing almonds, olives, oranges, lemons and many other types of fruit trees. Many of the local fiestas - and there are hundreds! - hark back to historic times.
There are many well known coastal resorts along the Costa Blanca, including Denia, Altea, Benidorm, Torrevieja, but there is so much more to see if you care to venture a little inland. Steep hillside villages, the beautiful almond blossom during January/February, the scent of the orange flowers in the Spring, so much to explore. Whatever time of year there is always something to see and do. Or just relax!
The Altea / Altea Hills area
There are more than a dozen golf courses within 30 minutes of the villa. Fonts de Algar, a natural waterfall with pools for cooling off is just a short drive away. Theme parks include Terra Mitica - easily a full day and very often offering two days for the price of one - will keep those seeking thrill rides very happy. Aqualandia and Aquanatura are two great water parks with steep water slides or more gentle river floats as well as play areas for younger children.
The city of Valencia is well worth a visit with the dry river bed making a lovely stroll leading down to the futuristic aquarium and museums. The old town with its cobbled streets, historic cathedral and art museums makes for an interesting cultural day out. Alicante is more than just an airport - great shopping in El Corte Ingles department stores and the many and varied boutique shops, a stroll along the seafront promenade admiring the multi million pound yachts, a walk round the walls of the Santa Barbara castle. Each village and town has a market day, be it general fruit and veg, clothing or the 'rastro' (selling all kinds of antiques, second hand goods and general junk!).

The property is situated in the hills above Altea and just 3kms from the village of Altea la Vella. The popular resort of Benidorm is 15kms away and the nearest airport is at Alicante, just 45 minutes drive. Many budget airlines, including Ryanair, Easyjet, AirBerlin, etc. offer flights from most areas of the UK directly to Alicante. Murcia and Valencia airports are approximately 90 minutes drive away. If you prefer to bring your car the port of Cherbourg is approximately 970 miles drive, Calais/Boulougne a little over 1,000 miles or Bilbao/Santander are a more comfortable 470 miles and easy to complete within one day.

The owner Andy is a very lovely person who is happy to accommodate specific needs and he provides great personal customer service and he will come and great you on arrival, give you the keys and show you the house.
The house is very spacious, has a lovely kitchen with some very practical utilities such as washing machine, dryer, American fridge/freezer. Unfortunately the ice maker/water cooler function on the freezer didn't work but a good old ice tray will also do the trick.
Since all the bedrooms are upstairs, there is a modest sunroof upstairs and the pool is accessible from the terrace outside through an outside staircase we had to improvise to keep our 1 year old toddler from falling down all these stairs. We managed by putting some chairs and little tables in strategic places.
The pool is a nice size but not heated though unless you specifically ask for it and also pay additional for this. As we did not know this we didn't ask for it so I am not sure what the rates for the heating would be.
Downstairs there are 3 bedrooms, one with an on suite bathroom, the other 2 share a bathroom although there is also a small bathroom with shower upstairs that can be used.
Outside there is a terrace at kitchen/living room level with a big table that serves well to have meals out on the patio. Downstairs by the pool there is lots of terrace space with sun lounger but with a young child we found we never used this space because it was too close to the pool.
All in all the house is set up very spacious. The location is up in the Altea hills. You absolutely need a car to get there and to get out and about. If you do not mind renting a car you should be all set.

A group if us stayed here in May this year for 4 days. The villa was lovely, very spacious, furnishings were great, we had everything we needed.
The owner, Andy, was very helpful.
I would recommend this villa to anyone who wants a peaceful holiday and doesnt mind being up in the hills away from it all.
