Great for families, walkers, cyclists, this stone-built, 18th Century semi-detached farmhouse, lies in a peaceful location, within the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and UNESCO Geopark. The house has many original features such as stone-flag floors, beams, 2 open fires including a Victorian fireplace.

Ideal for a relaxing holiday, with easy access to England's highest waterfall High Force, Hadrian's Wall, the Lake District via Hartside, (an AA "Top 10" Drive of England), the heritage railway or golf course at Alston, (England's highest market Town), Bowes Museum, and The North of England Open Air Museum at Beamish. Visit the many Cathedrals/Castles/Stone Circles/Roman Forts in the vicinity. Take a trip on the Famous Settle to Carlisle railway line, crossing the spectacular Ribblehead Viaduct.

A great area for walking, lying below Cross Fell, the highest peak on the Pennine Way, which passes the cottage, as does the Coast to Coast cycle route. There are easy family walks to local waterfalls, or along the river to Alston. Go upstream to the source of the River South Tyne, or further on to the source of the River Tees.

There is also a children's play area and you can book exclusive use of the swimming pool in the village, ideal for children. There are various pubs and restaurants in nearby Nenthead and Alston.

"Lovely welcoming base for a rural holiday"
