About the home

On entering through the gates of the Escape 2 Villa you will find a lovely landscaped garden full of fragrant flowers, fruit trees, lovely sea and mountain views, a private overflow swimming pool with a spacious patio area for sunbathing. Enjoy eating alfresco at the barbecue, or just relax with a good book on the ornate wooden swing or have a siesta in the hammock.

The Escape 2 will appeal to those who enjoy first class accommodation, in a beautiful location close to all the amenities. Alsancak is a popular village with several good restaurants/bars within walking distance. There is also a large well-stocked supermarket also within walking distance.

A wander into the old part of the village is like stepping back in time; here you will find shops, traditional restaurants, coffee bars, a bank, post office, kebab shop and a barbers where you can have a traditional wet shave.

For those who prefer to use local transport there is a bus service that operates from Alsancak to Kyrenia. Fares are approximately 50p. Taxis are also readily available.

A perfect holiday home for couples & families, wanting to get away from all the hustle and
bustle.

The villa has 3 double bedrooms all with fitted wardrobes and air conditioning. There is an en suite shower to master bedroom, a family bathroom and a down stairs shower room. A cot is also provided.

Single beds can be changed into queensize beds on request.

The villa boasts a fully fitted kitchen and dining area that seats six people comfortably. Plus a highchair.

The spacious lounge has satellite TV with an excellent choise of programmes and films, DVD player with plenty of DVDs to choose from and a stereo system with a good variety of CDs. The villa also has a log fire situated in the lounge. There is an elegant marble staircase leading to the first floor.

For winter lets we have provided electric and gas fires plus there is always the comfort of using the open log fire (logs can be ordered at an additional cost).

For personnel security a safe has been installed.

The Kyrenia region

North Cyprus is one of the few unspoilt, relatively uncommercial areas left in the Mediterranean. Its natural beauty will leave you breathless, whether it is the range of mountains running parallel to the coast or the wild flowers that grow at their best in spring. Crusader castles perch on three of the Kyrenia mountain peaks and offer views reaching far across the land and sea on a clear day. Swimming is excellent, either from local beaches, where a minimal charge is made for use of sun-beds and umbrella, or from deserted beaches further afield in clear waters rarely seen in the Mediterranean.

The climate consists of long hot summers and short mild sunny winters, boasting 340 days of sunshine with the lowest sea temperature rarely below 63 degrees F. This attractive holiday resort boasts many historic sites worth visiting. Among these the horse shoe Harbour, Castle and the Shipwreck Museum, The St. Hilarion Castle, The Bellapais Abbey, the Folk Art and the Icon Museum are the most important places to visit.
There is another fantastic experience, the Turtles in Northern Cyprus! turtles nest in some forty nesting beaches around Northern Cyprus. All are welcome to participate in this event as well to witness up to a hundred of these amazing little creatures hatching at one time.

The Alsancak area

ALSANCAK
Is a great location, close to all amenities. The village has something to offer everyone with its spectacular views, authentic village atmosphere and easy access to the beaches and restaurants & bars. There are a couple of well-stocked mini markets for all your supplies, plus a large supermarket a few minutes walk away. Close by is Riverside Village, a holiday complex with a large pool with slides for children, tennis courts, bars and restaurants and a casino if your feeling lucky. A new water park has recently opened nearby, about 5 minutes in the car. The Escape 2 is approximately 6 miles west of Kyrenia / Girne with its pretty old harbour and magnificent castle. The harbour is stunning, with plenty of restaurants and bars and looks magical of a night when lit up.

Fly to Larnaca Airport or Ercan - Alsancak is approximately 1 hour and 15 mintutes from Larnaca and 40 minutes journey from Ercan

Flights are available to Larnaca with Cyprus Airways, Easy Jet, Monarch & British Airways. Flights to Ercan are available from Pegasas & Atlas.

We use a local car hire company who also provide transfers from Larnaca & Ercan airport . We have been using this company for a long time now, for ourselves & guests and have found then to be 100% reliable. They provide transfers from Larnaca airport, at a cost of £50 each way & Ercan £25
To make things easier, we can arrange car hire and transfers for you.

“A little piece of paradise in Northern Cyprus” This was our second holiday at The Escape 2 and was every bit as enjoyable as the first. The villa is great - a real home from home. Comfortable and spacious with everything we needed. The gardens are well establised and provide ample seclusion. The pool was a welcome break in the hot weather. The management team, Jo and Les were very helpful as was Kamal who tends the garden. The local supermarket is well stocked and provides everything you need. There are plenty of excellent restaurants to choose from in the Kyrenia area - our favourites being Ambience ( a bit more expensive but well worth it) and Charcos in Lapta. But there are many more to choose from. The new road into Kyrenia makes it easily accessible for a stroll round the shops and harbour which is a beautiful setting in the evening. We would also recommend a visit to Bellapais. Although we have stayed here twice, we would have no hesitation in returning. We had a wonderful time in Cyprus. It was our first time there and certainly was one of our best holidays.
Your villa is superb, perfect location and the garden is wonderful. We would definitely be interested in returning. I can't really say there was anything about the holiday / Island that we didn't like. The food was extremely good and because its outside the euro zone it's very reasonable. We found so many good restaurants, notably Ambiance and Stone Grill. We also found the Silver Rocks in Lapta to be very good. The people are so friendly. Overall a beautiful island. Kyrena, Saint Hilarion and Bellapais all lovely excursions.

We had a lovely time in Cyprus. What a joy to go somewhere that hasn't been too commercialised.
The villa was lovely - kids really enjoyed having their "own" pool and spent lots of time in it.
Couldn't fault the villa at all - it was just what we wanted - quiet and peacful - and was very well equipped.
