About the home

Newly built Mediterranean villa with a round tower incorporating spacious open-plan living and dining room with high vaulted ceilings. Beautifully furnished and well-equipped to meet your every need. It boasts stunning, unobstructed views over a vineyard to the West, mountains to the South and sea to the North, which can be enjoyed from 3 different terraces for "al fresco" dining or just relaxing with a drink whilst watching the sun disappear over the horizon. The villa is surrounded by its own landscaped walled garden. A fully fitted Shaker style kitchen with all amenities is equipped with cooker, washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, water cooler etc. Child friendly, relaxing and comfortable property. A home from home which offers a fun, family holiday or a quiet romantic escape. No need to hire equipment for children - we have it all!

Facilities

Further details indoors:
Two bedrooms have king size beds with large en suite shower rooms equipped with power showers, toilets and sinks. The other bedroom has two single beds and use of a family bathroom with shower opposite. All bedrooms have mosquito nets, air conditioning, bedside tables and ample fitted wardrobes. The airy, open-plan lounge and dining area has vaulted ceilings with a ceiling fan. There are comfy sofas and arm chairs plus an extendable dining table to seat 6. Satellite television, video and dvd players are available. The large open-plan kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need. An open fire is in the lounge and radiators are located in every room. There is a pool terrace looking over the pool and facing north with views of the sea. To the West is a dining terrace for "al fresco" sunset dining, equipped with dining table and chairs and huge built- in bbq. Above the dining terrace, reached by a spiral staircase, is a roof-top terrace with table, chairs and sofa, where you can sip cocktails whilst looking at the stunning views of mountains to the South, sea to the North and miles of coastline to the West.

Further details outdoors:
The large, mature landscaped garden surrounds the property and is enclosed by a dry-stone wall in Cypriot stone. Wrought iron gates are at the entrance and there is ample room for 2-3 cars. The pool is 10m x 5m and there is also an outdoor shower. There are six pool loungers and pool towels are provided. Plenty of inflatable pool toys are available for the kids. All terraces have wrought iron gates with bolts to stop small children wandering into the pool area.

This is a non-smoking villa although we are happy for people to smoke on the terraces. No pets are allowed but we welcome children. We have two small children of our own and the villa has been built with children in mind.
A built-in safe is in the master bedroom.
Two UK child car seats for 3-11 year olds are available for your use.
There is a mini hi-fi system and a good selection of CDs.
A selection of videos, DVDs, books and magazines is also available.
On arrival you will find a welcome pack of fresh food and drinks awaiting you. A comprehensive guide for use of the property, pool, etc. are in the villa together with local information regarding beaches, restaurants, places of interest, shopping, etc. The Managing Agents will carry out a courtesy visit to ensure enverything is okay and help with queries. Mid-stay cleaning and laundry can be arranged for an extra fee. ON DAY OF DEPARTURE THE VILLA MUST BE VACATED BY 10 A.M. A LATE DEPARTURE CAN BE ARRANGED AT AN EXTRA COST OF £50 UNLESS IT CLASHES WITH THE ARRIVAL OF ANOTHER GUEST.

Conditions

Please contact owner. 50% deposit of total rental is required to secure the booking, paid either by cheque or bank transfer. Confirmation of booking and receipt of payment will be made by e-mail. Balance is required approximately 8 weeks before the start of the holiday, together with a refundable deposit of £100. Cancellation charges: up to 8 weeks - deposit; up to 55 days - 60% of the total cost; up to 28 days - 100% of the total cost. Keys are available from meet-and-greet taxi driver.

The Kyrenia region

The climate in Northern Cyprus makes this an ideal summer or winter destination. It is located 5 minutes from safe, clean, sandy beaches with full facilities and only 15 minutes to the fantastic old harbour town of Kyrenia.

The Alsancak area

The nearest village is Alsancak which is walking distance. By car, the border into Southern Cyprus is 30 minutes; Famagusta is 1.5 hours; St. Hilarion Castle at the top of a mountain peak is approx 15 mins and the Karpas peninsular with its miles of white sandy beaches is 2 hours away. Cenap, one of the most popular mezze restaurants in the north, is located in Alsancak. In the village there is also a supermarket with most things you would need - including nappies and formula! They also have fresh milk and bread after 11a.m. Other local supermarkets have a lot of UK-brand goods. The best ones are Tempo (5 minutes from the villa); Lemar (10 minutes from the villa). Flights to Northern Cyprus are available from various UK airports including Heathrow, Gatwick, Stanstead, Manchester, Belfast & Glasgow and go via Turkey. The journey from Ercan airport is 45 minutes. Information and advice on bookings available from owners. Alternatively, you can fly direct into Larnaca in the South and we can arrange a taxi transfer direct to the villa which takes 1.5hrs. Car hire is strongly recommended and a vehicle can be delivered to the villa or picked up at the airport. Rates are competitive and child car seats are available.

“A stunning villa and garden with all the comforts of home” We were so taken with the whole setting of La Casa Magdelena - the garden we thought was stunning and the planting really enhanced the villa. Within easy reach of some interesting sites - we visited St Hilarion, Kantara and Kyrenia castles and would recommend these if you like to flavour your holiday with a little culture. Belapais Abbey is also a must see - about half an hour away and breathtakingly beautiful. The villa itself was well equipped for a family - although we were only 2 adults, it would be an ideal place for children as there were toys provided to keep little ones amused - if you could get them out of the pool long enough! Talking of which the pool was superb and for us one of the highlights of the holiday. Just so great to be able to cool down and relax in. The owners were very helpful organising a hired car and taxi collection and drop off for us and we really felt at home from the moment we arrived. One thing we enjoyed so much was going into Kyrenia in the evening and watching the world go by as we tried out various restaurants around the pretty harbour. Thoroughly recommended.

“Excellent choice” We had a very good time at La Casa Magdalena. We have been visiting Northern Cyprus for the past 20 years. We found the villa a very good choice in a good location with good facilities and close to amenities.The pool area was good although I would suggest that the parasols need upgrading both in terms of quality and standard,they kept blowing away and this must have been a constant problem as they were damaged on arrival! Otherwise excellent time was had by all and would not hesitate to re-book. Response: Thank you for your kind and constructive comments.
