'Bellavista' lies on the edge of the village of Alsancak with a range of restaurants, a new supermarket and the coast within a few minutes drive. Local shops and restaurants are a short walk away and pleasant hill walks can also be made from the villa.
'Bellavista' has been designed to provide everything you could need for a relaxing holiday. The spacious entrance hall leads to a kitchen/dining room fully equipped with Bosch appliances and a dining table seating six. Sliding doors lead to the main patio and an alfresco dining table seating eight. The separate lounge is air-conditioned and comfortably furnished with twin doors leading to the main patio. Also on the ground floor is an air-conditioned twin bedroom. Adjacent to this bedroom is the family bathroom.
On the first floor there are two ensuite bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and access to the spacious first floor terrace with beautiful sea and mountain views. Bedroom 2 has twin beds and a balcony with views over the adjoining citrus orchard. Both bedrooms are air-conditioned. Outside 'Bellavista' has a 10m x 5m overflow swimming pool with Roman steps, a sun terrace with sunbeds and parasols and a poolside shower. The main patio has a granite-topped table seating eight and 2 wrought iron sunbeds to provide comfortable seating away from the sun. The first floor terrrace also has a granite-topped table seating four and is the perfect spot for enjoying a drink whilst watching the sun set!

The Kyrenia District
Northern Cyprus is often described as being one of the last unspoilt areas of the Mediterranean. The area around Kyrenia is a particuarly attractive part of the island. Here traditional villages such as Alsancak in the foothills of the Besparmak range enjoy a mountain backdrop away from the bustle of the coastal road but with the sea only a short drive away.
Cyprus has a varied and interesting history, having been part of the Byzantine, Roman, Venetian, Ottoman, French and British empires at different times in its history. The influences of these empires are evident in the historic buildings and the character of the North of the island. Kyrenia, with its Crusader castle, pretty port and wide selection of shops and restaurants is 6 km along the coast road from Alsancak. The ancient ruins of St. Hilarion castle and Bellapais Abbey are a 20 minute drive away and are well worth a visit. Further afield, but worth the longer drive, are the unspoilt beaches of the Karpas penninsula (often referred to as the 'panhandle' of Cyprus). The ancient fortification of Kantara castle, built at the time of the crusades, is also situated in the Karpas and has truly spectacular views along the spine of the Besparmak mountain range. Salamis, towards Famagusta, has examples of Roman historical sites that are open to the public. The ancient capial city of Nicosia is a 30 minute drive from Alsancak.
The climate is pleasantly warm in the spring and autumn months and reliably hot and dry during July and August.
Alsancak area
'Bellavista' is situated on the outskirts of the traditional Turkish Cypriot village of Alsancak. Small local shops and a restaurant are 10 mintues walk from the villa and a new supermarket, open 7 days a week, is only a 5 minute drive away. Walks in the foothills of the mountains can be made direct from the villa and are particularly attractive in spring when the wild flowers are in full bloom.
There is a huge selection of restaurants in the area, many of which can be found along the coast road from Kyrenia. They offer food to suit all tastes from traditional Cypriot mezze to authentic curries and European cuisine.
'Bellavista' is within a few minutes drive of the coast. There is good choice of coves and beaches nearby, the largest of which are Escape and Mare Monte. Both beaches are safe and family-friendly with beach umbrellas and restaurant facilities. Scuba diving and other water sports are available at several locations, including Escape beach. Boat trips can be taken from Kyrenia. For day trips we would recommend a drive to the Karpas penninsula where the coast is undeveloped. Paragliding from the Besparmak mountain range can be experienced closer to Kyrenia.
How to get there
Flights to the local North Cyprus airport (Ercan) are available from all major UK airports. The transfer time from Ercan to Alsancak is approximately 45 minutes. Car hire companies will often provide a free transfer from Ercan if you are hiring vehicles from them. Alternatively taxis to 'Bellavista' from Ercan will cost approximately £20. A greater choice of scheduled and charter flights is also avaliable to Larnaca in Southern Cyprus with a transfer time to Alsancak of 1.5 hours. The cost of transfer from Larnaca is approximately £40. Although there are cheap local bus and taxi services car hire is recommended. Please contact us for further advice and recommendations.

Further details indoors: The master bedroom has a king-size double bed, air conditioning, built-in wardrobes and a door to the first floor terrace. There is also a large ensuite bathroom with bath, shower, washbasin and w.c.
Bedroom 2 has twin beds, air conditioning, built-in wardrobes, balcony and an ensuite shower room with shower cubicle, washbasin and w.c.
Bedroom 3 is on the ground floor and has twin beds, built-in wardrobes and air conditioning. This room is adjacent to the main family shower room with large walk- in shower, washbasin and w.c.
The living room has air conditioning, a double sofa bed, a 3-seater sofa and an armchair. There is a marble fireplace and double doors to the patio area. Other facilities include a micro hi- fi system, TV and DVD player with a good selection of films for adults and children.
The kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped with Bosch appliances (dishwasher, washing machine, gas hob, electric oven, large fridge/freezer) and a microwave oven. There is a dining area with a round table and 6 chairs. Doors lead to the alfresco dining area on the patio outside.
The spacious hallways and a marble stairwell keep the villa cool in the summer months. The air conditioning in the bedrooms and lounge can also be used to heat the rooms on chillier evenings in the spring and autumn.

The ground floor patio has an alfresco dining area with a granite-topped dining table and 8 dining chairs. This patio also has two wrought iron sun loungers to provide comfortable seating away from the heat of the sun.
There is a first floor terrace with beautiful sea and mountain views. Accessed from the first floor landing and master bedroom, it has a granite-topped table and 4 chairs.
The garden is planted with a variety of Mediterranean plants to provide year-round colour. There is sufficient parking for two cars on the hardstanding area to the rear of the villa.
Further details
A welcome pack is provided free of charge. Typically this will include water, bread, butter, milk, cheese, jam, yoghurt, wine and beer.
Maid service is provided for cleaning of bathrooms and linen/towel changes after each weeks' stay.
Hire of equipment for young children, eg. cots, highchairs, can be arranged by our managing agents.
Conditions
A deposit of 20% of the total rental charge is payable on booking. The balance is payable 8 weeks prior to departure.
Cancellation charges will apply: 8 weeks or more prior to departure = deposit; 4 weeks to 8 weeks before departure = 60% total rental charge; less than 4 weeks = 100% total rental charge.

To sum up the villa was as near perfect as I could imagine ... I can't think of one single thing that would make the villa any better.
