The Kyrenia District
With an average of 300 days of sunshine a year, the average annual temperature is 19C (66F). The temperature in midsummer can reach over 40C (105F) with the warmest sea temperature in the Mediterranean averaging 21C (75F). The public beaches are almost empty during the day and are lit by local people barbecueing in the evening.
North Cyprus is nicknamed the "Secret Cyprus" as it is totally unspoilt with almost no commercialism to be seen. The Harbour in Kyrenia is a typical old Mediterranean sea port and very picturesque where one can sit and watch the Kyreni day or night life go by whilst eating and drinking in the many bars and restaurants. Bellapais Abbey in the day is very beautiful and by night spectacular. A facinating place to visit is Algadi beach where the endangered species of North Atlantic & Green turtles, nest & hatch. The castle at Hilarion is breathtaking and if you are energetic enough & fit enough, the climb to the top is well worth the effort with panoramic views of the Kyrenia area and even to Nicosia on a clear day. Ten minute drive from Kyrenia town is a fantastic water park which attracts young and old alike. Night clubs and casinos are situated along the coast road and in Kyrenia Town. On Wednesdays there is a street market in town with fresh produce, clothes and everything you could possibly want!
Alsancak area
It is approximately 6 miles west of Kyrenia, a typical Cypriot village, which is 5 minutes walk from the bungalow. Local fresh produce is avaliable at cheap prices, alternatively there is a large supermarket that is well stocked for all your needs. The local people are very friendly and try to help whenever possible. The nearest beach is approximately 2km, along with its white sands, the calm & clear water is ideal for snorkelling. Local bars and restaurants are within easy walking distance. The area is ideal for leisurely walks up into the woods and mountains.

Further details indoors: Windows and doors are double glazed and all have secure shutters. Satellite tv, dvd, cd player, books, games and selection of CDs and DVDs all avaliable. The kitchen has a hot and cold water dispenser, large insect zapper and floor standing fan. Also avaliable is a child's travel cot, 2 single and 1 double blow up mattresses complete with electric pump. In the winter there are electric and gas heaters and open log fire in the lounge. The air conditioning units can also be used as a heater in the bedrooms.
Further details outdoors: The large roof terrace is complete with table and chairs to seat 6 people with a large umbrella. Surrounding the pool are 6 adjustable sun loungers, 3 tables and umbrellas, pool shower, stone built barbque and large marble table with 6 iron chairs & cushions. The front and back terraces are also equipped with table and chairs. A cushioned garden swing completes the ambience. The bungalow is surrounded by a stone wall and metal gates and is secure for children.
Further details
Please bring own beach/pool towels. Smoking is not allowed in the bedrooms. No pets please. No wet swimwear on the lounge or dining room furniture. Clean linen, towels and house cleaning included in the rental fee. Welcome pack provided. Any problems can be reported to our local management agency.
Conditions
A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure this booking. The remaining balance together with a £100 refundable breakages deposit must be paid not less than 8 weeks prior to start of letting.
