The Kyrenia District
Northern Cyprus (the jewel of the Mediterranean), remains the perfect hideaway, peaceful and unspoilt. It has the most pleasing climate in the whole of Europe. The winters are mild and rarely extend beyond February and with over 300 days of sunshine a year, the temperatures can reach into the 70s as early as March. There are undeveloped beaches all along the coast, particularly at the Karpaz Penninsular and it is possible to watch sea turtles nesting and hatching at Alagadi Beach. Inland, Crusader Castles such as Hilarion and Kantara (conquered by Richard the Lionheart in 1191) and monasteries,for example Bellapais Abbey can be visited.There are Roman ruins at Salamis and Soli not to be missed.The Besparmak Mountains are traffic free and provide wonderful walking and bird watching,especially in the spring when the wild flowers are in bloom.The citrus growing region to the east,around Guzelyurt,is also worth a visit. Turkish cuisine should be sampled at the plentiful,varied and reasonably priced restaurants.Some restaurants further afield will supply free taxis for their customers.English is widely spoken throughout the island and Turkish Cypriot people are extremely friendly;it is a very safe holiday destination. Kyrenia (Girne) is only 7km along the coast road and is the prettiest town on the island.A charming harbour full of yachts and fishing boats is framed by the colossal hulk of its crusader castle and has an intoxicating atmosphere.
Alsancak area
The apartment is within walking distance (10 mins)to watersports at two separate beaches,providing boarding,skiing,jet skiing and powerboat rides.There are numerous scuba diving centres along the coast.For the even more daring there is tandem paragliding from the top of the mountain 2,500ft courtesey of High Line air tours! (www.highlineparagliding.com). The Merit Crystal Hotel,which can be seen from the apartment ,welcomes visitors and for a nominal fee allows the use of beach and all facilities,including sauna,gym,pool,watersports,bars and restaurants.For around £20 per day you can have all of the above plus food and drink all inclusive!There is a waterpark at Riverside holiday village a 5 minute drive away.There is also a great new waterpark that has opened in Lapta.The beautiful Alsancak Beach and Escape beach are a must visit,both only a 5 minute drive away.
How to get there
Three airlines fly to Northern Cyprus (Ercan Airport) from the UK,Turkish Airlines,Cyprus Turkish Airlines (CTA) and Atlas Jet.Transfers take approx 40 minutes.Direct flights also available to Larnaca and Paphos across the border in South Cyprus.
Key collection, taxi and car hire can be arranged through our local agent. Driving is on the left as in the UK.

A breakfast terrace can be accessed from the kitchen, which has views of the Mediterranean. Satellite TV has been installed.There is an i-pod station,radio and cd player.
Further details outdoors: The roof terrace benefits from sun loungers, parasols, dining table and 6 chairs. There is also a sink, shower and large stone built BBQ. Lights have been installed for use as the evenings draw in. This is an ideal spot to watch the sunset over the Mediterranean or take in the breathtaking views of the Besparmak mountains.

The apartment is not suitable for babies. Smoking is only permitted outside the apartment, on the balcony or the roof terrace. Any smoke detected in apartment and breakage deposit will be forfeited by customer.

The remaining balance must be paid not less than 8 weeks prior to start of letting together with a £150 security bond.
