This stunning Casita which translates as cottage is located in a Hamlet belonging to the incredible hilltop village of Comares.
It is modern in build but traditional in style and has lovely arches and rooftop terraces that help make it a little more special than the average newer builds and looks as though it has stood in its grounds for decades not just years.
The cottage lends itself to being a honeymoon or romantic retreat for couples as it is positioned in a lovely secluded spot with one neighbour below, comfortable positioned far enough away with no one looking into your space or pool area.
The peaceful location is enhanced with lovely valley views and river walks in the dry summer months.
There has been no expense spared on the interior fittings and the quaint Moorish influenced furniture and fabrics combined with chunky wooden tables and cupboards are totally in unison with a great modern kitchen which is the focus of the front of the cottage and allows you to cook and look at the views whilst sipping the odd glass of wine.
The lounge area is spacious and airy and located in the back of the cottage with lovely patio doors leading to the great 8 x 4m pool, which has steps in one corner if you are toe tester and not a diver!
The terrace around the pool allows you to sun bath with one eye kept on the pool which will tempt you in on a regular basis.
The upstairs has 2 lovely bedrooms both with en-suites and the master bedroom also has a bath. The master bedroom has its own terrace, great for that morning coffee or orange juice whilst you contemplate the day ahead. Though the other bedroom with twin beds has balcony windows and pool views. There is also a lovely roof terrace for extra privacy and sunbathing.
There are mosquito nets on the windows and fans provided so the cooler night breeze will lead to a good night's rest.
There is plenty of alfresco dining space for sun worshippers and shade seekers alike and you will find yourself moving around the outside of the cottage until the views and spot are in harmony with what you desire.
A car is really essential for this style of rental as you drive up towards Comares and then turn off 10 minutes down towards the river and the cottage on a mainly tarmac road, so a walk up hill in the summer months would be difficult but the location gives you tranquillity, peace and seclusion in equal amounts.
Although we believe it is a romantic location we are happy for families of four or groups to rent but we feel an £50 per week per person is fully justified for the extra numbers.
Come and discover this lovely cottage nestled below the comforting security of its nearby big brother village Comares and I guarantee you will return and recommend.

The Andalucia region
The region is bordered to the north by the rocky Alfanarte Mountain range, and to the south by the sea at Torre del Mar - a short 25 min drive through the olive and almond groves.
This area is also rich in fruit such as mango, avocado, orange and lemon groves along the route to the sea. Many of the olive trees are over 1000 years old and date back to the Roman period.
The coast offers a choice of towns from Malaga in the east to Nerja in the west, the beaches are long and largely empty and the towns have all the nightlife and shopping you could want.
Comares sits over 700 meters above sea level and has been named in Arabic as “Hins Comrix” which means “Castle on High”.
It is also a town steeped in history and very rich in culture.
It was home to a Muslim rebel leader named Omar ben Hafsum in 9th century AD. And this history of Muslim occupation is still evident in the village today with its inscribed stonework, watch towers, whitewashed houses and narrow cobblestone streets.
A Parish church which was built way back in the 16th century is certainly worth a look. There are also several bars, supermarkets, plazas, a post office and a bank to cater to locals and the few tourists who are lucky enough to have found this great haven.

A great review from guests that knows this area well but I believe with the Casita they have now found a place they would like to call home from home.
Of all the places we rent this is the most romantic and is fast gaining a reputation for being a honeymoon cottage, though many families are also attracted to it's facilities as well, many thanks once again.
