About the home
The apartment is located in the ski village of Alpendorf in the Apartment chalet of "Ciovo". The apartment has modern furniture and is well equipped for self catering. A ski and boot room is located in the ground floor, which has a door direct out to the carports and onto the ski area, which can be accessed approximately 100m from the apartment.
The Alpendorf ski Area, is serviced via a modern heated chairlift and a gondola. The ski area extends to Wagrain and onto Flachau, giving a good variety of open pistes, tree lined runs fun-parks, and beginner area. The area has an excellent snow record and an extensive snow making system to ensure a good base is established. Alpendorf is part of the Ski Amade ski area, which covers over 850km of piste and 270 modern lifts. Alpendorf is centrally located in the Ski Amade area, enabling fantastic variety within a 30min drive to other areas such as Schladming, Bad Gastein, Zauchansee, and my personal favourite Muhlbach (shhhhh it's a secret).
The village of Alpendorf is a beautiful Alpine resort, providing a variety of restaurants, bars, ski shops and ski schools. The apres ski bars are an experience not to be missed.
The apartment is managed by an experienced UK skier who will arrange to meet you with the key and I'm sure can offer great advice on where to go for the best conditions.

The accommodation comprises of a open plan living / dining area (containing a double sofa bed), shower room, toilet, bedroom (double bed) and a kitchen. The apartment is suitable for up to 4 persons.

A 25% deposit is required to secure the booking, with the remainder payable 4 weeks prior to entry.
Short rentals are available on request
Midweek to midweek rentals are available to allow you to take advantage of cheaper midweek flights.
Laundry is included in the rental rates, final cleaning is an additional 40 euros (Payable locally to the key holder) or you can chose to do this yourself.
Conditions
Arrival times should be after 2pm and departure time should be by 10am, however if you plan to ski on the day of departure, bags can be left in the ski room and suitable arrangements made if required.
The Austrian Alps / Salzburgerland / Salzburgerland region
Visitors to the area will enjoy fantastic alpine scenery in summer and winter. Travelling south from Salzburg, the landscape changes dramatically from the flat plains of Germany to the classic dolimitic alps of Austria. Salzburgland is towards the eastern end of the alps, and thus enjoys reliable winter climate without having to venture to high altitudes. This allows many of the ski resorts to be located within and through rural villages giving the classic alpine atmosphere.
Salzburgland runs from the Northern edge of the alps, making the area easily accessible from South Eastern Germany and the city of Salzburg.
The Alpendorf area
Alpendorf can provide all essential ski services, including rental, ski schools, a local shop, bars and resturants. The main town of of the area St Johan is located 3 km away and offers all key amenities you'd expect in a large town.
During winter the focus is on downhill and cross country skiing, with a range of associated events and apres ski activities. During summer this area is central to many of the main tourist attractions, such as the icecave, castle and falconary centre at Werfen and the Lichtensteinklam Gorge.

Alpendorf is located 35miles (50kms) south of Salzburg and 3km from the main town of St Johan im Pongau. St Johan is well connected to Salzburg via the main railway line and motorway. Several budget and holiday carriers fly into Salzburg, including Jet 2, Ryanair, Thomson, and British Airways.
Easyjet and several main carriers fly direct to Munich. Munich airport is a transfer of approximately 2 hours via autobahn or could be travelled by train via Salzburg and onto St johan. .
Hire cars are available at the airports. I'd recommend searching out the best deal via carhire search websites such as Auto Europe, Holiday Autos and Carhire 3000.

Have stayed here twice on weekly ski holidays with friends. Appartment is well done out and is located an easy 60 second ski from the main gondola. Short walk to town for bars, restaurants and other ammenities. |
