Guestbook for Chalet Le Sabot
Thank you for a wonderful week, food was superb and served with humour and conviviality - you have a great way of putting your guests immediately at ease...
Marshall Chieko Robby & Alex, UK April 2011 (Third Visit)
I blame Martyn and Shirley for bringing us here to Chalet Sabot! They were here at Christmas 2010 and thought that another trip with some “old” skiing friends would be great. They were correct in their thinking. Its the best Catered Chalet we’ve stayed in this side of the Atlantic. It was nicely appointed and thoughtfully fitted out for skiers needs. The food cooked by Chris has been great and healthy to! She was well served by her “sou chef” Peter who offered us much advice, i.e Weather, skiing and Bus timetables.
Well Chris’s Porridge was the pinnacle of taste: Porridge, honey and Baileys Irish Cream for the warm glow in the morning. Great fun and thanks.
Jean and Gil, UK, March 2011
Chris and Peter- Thank you for keeping us well fed and for making our week in Oz so relaxing and enjoyable.
A great week introducing me to skiing. Thank you for the delicious meals and wine.
Thank you, Peter and Chris for your fantastic hospitality. In 8 weeks skiing you have been the best hosts we have come across. The food was fantastic.
Thank you so much Peter and Chris for your wonderful hospitality, great food and company.
The Doctors, UK, March 2011
Thank you, we have had a fantastic time in this beautifully located chalet. Peter and Christine have been a blessing as the food and conversation were fantastic (especially with vegetarians in mind). We all loved the layout of the building and especially the boot room!
Zoe- we felt that you were always extremely helpful with any queries we passed your way, helping to make booking our first independent ski trip a fairly stress free process - thank you!
The Bristol Crowd, UK, February 2011
We had a lovely holiday. The chalet hosts were very kind and the meals they cooked were lovely. Record: Most Nutella eaten, most bread eaten, most family games played! Had a wonderful holiday.
The Hughes Family, UK, February Half Term 2011
When we arrived at the chalet we were amazed by it's beauty and thanks to our lovely hosts we were able to settle down asap. Thank you very much for our brilliant holiday.
The Duncan Family, UK, February Half Term 2011
A massive thank you! My time here is one I shall never forget. Fantastic food, lovely people and super skiing.
Chris, UK, February 2011
If we ever make it to heaven we will be short changed by 2 weeks simply because we have already spent them at Le Sabot! 2 years ago and now again we have lived through a week of total relaxation consisting of fantastic food and drinks, sauna, baths and relaxing sessions at the fireplace. Thanks for bringing heaven to earth.
Eddy & Marleen, Belgium, January 2011 (second visit)
Once again we had a great time at the Chalet. Our hosts were excellent- welcoming, very committed and hard- working. Many thanks to them for a great holiday- great cooking, great company- couldn't have been more helpful. We were very lucky with the weather also, snow in the first two days, then glorious sunshine for the rest of the week. It was like Easter skiing- wonderful. We enjoyed Oz again and the comforts of Chalet Le Sabot.
The Morris Party, UK January 2011 (second visit)
This is our 2nd time here. Loved last year but loved this one even more!! We really couldn't fault a single detail of the service we received from our hosts. We loved their food and company in equal measure. We were extremely lucky to have both snow and sun this week but I'm sure we would have had a wonderful time whatever the weather. Can't wait for a rematch next year.
Tracey & Jim Power, UK. January 2011
What a wonderful week and the perfect way to bring in the new year. Wonderful chalet, wonderful hosts, great skiing - the best of 3 times in Alpe d'Huez. Thank you so much for making us so welcome, for looking after us and for the fantastic cuisine - just brilliant
The Pedricks, UK. New Year 2010
We can only agree wholeheartedly with the comments made. Thanks to our hosts for making us feel so at home, and absolutley fantastic food. A big thank you
The Taylors, UK. New Year 2010
Derek I'm envious, you have a great chalet. We all had a great time and your hosts couldn't have done more. We'll be back.
Thank you for being so helpful and freindly. The food was wonderful. Have a great season and enjoy your skiing.
The Coxhills, Birmingham, UK. Christmas 2010
The Ward family and friends, Holland. Christmas 2009
We’re two Dutch families who decided to have a great week in Oz- and we got it! We skied every day and had loads of fun.
The International Gang: Canada, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Switzerland, Morocco, Denmark, Italy, Belgium, Burundi and Mozambique. New Year 2009
We greatly enjoyed our stay at Chalet Le Sabot, thanks partly to the lovely decor and creature comforts, but mostly thanks to Sam and Colin- the best chalet staff anywhere. They catered for our every need whilst being fun, friendly and very interesting to chat with. We hope to be back some day.
The Nolans Ireland, January 2010
We all had an amazing week. With regards to skiing we had great fun on the amazing Vaujany and Alpe d’ Huez resort even with the many falls! The food was the highlight of the chalet although we gained a few pounds. Thanks hugely to Sam and Colin who were great fun all week.
The Morris group, UK. January 2010
This was our first time in Oz. Sam and Colin have been fab they took very good care of us and took a really personal interest in us and have been consistently good humoured. Their orientation when we first arrived was really helpful. We very much loved Oz, an attractive village with excellent access to the slopes. There was good skiing at all levels. We’ll be back!
Niamh, Ireland. January 2010
Thanks a million for your wonderful hospitality, you made me feel really welcome and the food was great too!
Vicky and Joe, UK. January 2010
We’ve had a lovely time, thanks so much. We’ll be back. NB Sam’s cakes were amazing especially the scones!
Nigel Sylvester and friends, UK. January 2010
We had a really good time. (Reference the chalet food) from the Thai to the monkfish with Pernod no effort has been spared. We enjoyed the sauna in this really comfortable chalet. The skiing has been great finishing with a day of powder through the trees- bliss.
The Wilson’s, South Africa. February 2010
We were both looking for a relaxing and carefree break...and guess what we found? Just that plus much more! Lots of snow, beautiful scenery, quaint villages, lots and lots of good food and wine and hosts who cared. Thanks guys.
Jessie and friend, UK. February 2010
We have had a brilliant relaxing holiday with great hospitality and food, it was just what we both needed.
The King family, UK. Half Term February 2010
We came to Chalet Le Sabot for dinner last year and had a taste of a ski holiday in a lovely chalet so this year we looked forward to a week away from the kitchen and daily chores and it has been really wonderful being pampered by our gracious hosts. Thank you Chalet Le Sabot for a lovely week!
‘The Swan’, the Dad and Elliot, UK. Half Term February 2010
This is very much a superior chalet with really excellent hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them from taking us around the village to organising ski hire and ski school to booking us a restaurant and a return taxi. The chalet food was full ‘cordon bleu’ quality and the atmosphere was always very friendly. Overall Chalet Le Sabot was an excellent experience. Many thanks.
We enjoyed:
The hospitality and excellent food
Taking care of food allergies
The chalet, warm bedrooms
The cakes...extra helpings of cakes
Large amounts of wine and beer
The snow and slopes
The resort and restaurants
Cooked breakfasts
The other guests we were sharing with (the Kings)
The relaxation
We didn’t enjoy:
The clouds
The journey
Thanks for a great holiday!
The Michel Family, Germany. March 2010
We were lucky that we found you! We enjoyed the authentic chalet, the slope and eating the ‘schotnen’ especially. We had super nice weather for 5 days. We had a wonderful time and we will definitely recommend you.
The Tennis Club group. March 2010
We didn’t manage to match the 50 litre record set by the Leeds lawyers but I think we set a sunshine record with 6 gloriously sunny days out of 7. The chalet is really nice, facilities and location good, but what really made the holiday was the hospitality and willingness to help of our hosts Colin & Sam and the food has been fantastic- by far the best experienced in a catered chalet. Thanks very much.
Fantastic hosts- it’s great to see a couple enjoying their work, excellent food, good chalet, great weather. Just Brill!
Bloody good tucker!
