The Rhone / French Alps / Isere region
Oz is situated in the largest national park in France and provides an ideal winter base for skiing and summer base for walking, cycling and climbing.
The ski area covers some 220 km and is suitable for all though probably best for intermediates.
A full ADH ski pass entitles the holder to a day`s skiing at the neighbouring resort of Les Deux Alpes.
Known locally as the ` island in the sun`, it averages 300 days/year of sunshine.
Alpe d'Huez / Oz Station area
Local activities walking, cycling, ski, mountain biking, climbing, white water rafting and kayaking.
In the winter, Oz has its own ice rink (free entry with ski pass), night time skiing and `bum` board runs.
The Tour de France passes through ADH every other year (next due in 2008). The World Mountain Biking Champs have been held here and other mountain bike races such as the Megavalanche.
How to get there
Fly to Grenoble via Easyjet from London, Birmingham, Bournemouth & Bristol. Grenoble is the nearest airport: transfer time 1.25 hours.
Fly to Lyon via Ryanair from East Midland Airport, Liverpool & London. Lyon is 2 hours from Oz.
Geneva: 3.5 hours.
Travel to resort using car hire, private taxi, bus.
