Home description
Belledonne is a lovely 3 bedroomed apartment on the edge of Oz station but close to all the amenities including ski lifts, ski school, shops, ice skating, swimming pool, tennis courts and beginners slopes. With 5 ski lifts, Oz is a great location for mixed ability ski groups with plenty for beginners and the more experienced skiers, with 250 km of pistes to 3300m, including the Sarenne an18km black run.
Belledonne is available on a self-catered basis and we can help arrange transfers. WiFi internet access is available nearby in the village. For self catered guests there is a cleaning charge of Euros75 paid locally and includes local tourist tax, bedlinen and towels.
The first floor has the main living area, kitchen and shower room / WC, with access to the SW facing balcony, whilst the second floor has the family bathroom / WC and 3 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a double and a single, bedroom 2 has a double with a single over, bedroom 3 has bunks. The apartment is very comfortable with 6 adults or maximum of 8 including children.
There is separate ski, board and boot storage.

The Rhone / French Alps / Isere region
We are based at the heart of the Grandes Rousses ski area (previously called Alpe d'Huez) with 250 km and 10,000 ha of skiing up to 3300m and an excellent snow record. You can buy your lift pass on-line before you set-off on holiday. For alternatives the electronic lift passes also cover Les Deux Alpes and Serre Chevalier approximately 1-2 hours drive away.

In summer, amongst the beautiful Alpine views, there is plenty of walking, mountain biking, cycling, fishing, rafting, tennis and many other outdoor pursuits, with lots of space to be alone and avoid the crowds. We are also close to the Tour de France route and especially the climb or time trial up to Alpe d'Huez.
Oz hosts the Avalanche Cup mountain bike race and is agreat base for the Megavalanche race, usually held in July. Oz is also on the French National mountain bike championship circuit.
Alpe d'Huez / Oz Station area
Oz is mainly a traffic free resort at 1350m and has several bars and restaurants, heated indoor swimming pool and (in winter) an iceskating rink, floodlit skiing and tobogganing. With 3 beginners drag-lifts and 2 hi-speed telecabins skiers of all abilities are well catered for and skiing home is by reds and blues with Roche Noire an exciting black-run for the more experienced.
In summer, Oz is surrounded by well sign posted mountain walks, often with a lovely restaurant en-route. In winter and summer, the surrounding villages of Huez, Vaujany, Auris and Villard are a ski or walk away.

In summer walkers and mountainbikers can use the lifts out of Oz.
How to get there
We are well served by the budget airlines from regional airports in England, Scotland and Wales into Grenoble Isere and Chambery Savoie airports. Slightly further away Lyon St Exupery and Geneva are also well connected.
We are approximately 575 miles from Calais by car.
By rail, Grenoble is on the French TGV system and typically our guests have changed at Lille to avoid crossing Paris by taxi.

Further details outdoors: There is plenty of free roadside parking and undercover parking costs approx Euros 25 per week. There is a lovely public heated swimming pool with hamam, tobogganing and iceskating close by. Oz has a creche (Halte Garderie) that takes children from 6 months to 6 years, in addition to the ESF that has a "Jardin de Neige" for youngsters, it has a good reputation and needs to be booked in advance. Vaccination certificates are required for the creche.
