Les Myrtilles
About the home
This 3 bedroom apartment has a great location in the centre of this quiet pedestrianized village. On the lower floor there is a large living and dining area with adjoining kitchen. The new kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher and clothes washer and all the usual kitchen accessories. The living room has a 32in flat screen TV and blue-ray player. A new bathroom with whirlpool bath was fitted in 2011. One double bedroom is on the lower floor and the other two are on the upper floor with the second bathroom, with rain shower.
From the south-facing balcony you have great views over the piste and nursery slopes. There is easy access to the slopes from the two gondola lifts. One lift is a 200m ski from the apartment, while the other is 50m walk to the top of the village. A new piste for 2012 means that is even easier to ski back to the apartment.

Enquire nowThe Rhone / French Alps / Isere region
Oz-en-Oisans is part of the Alps d'Huez ski region, and the surrounding are is beautiful. A weeks ski pass allows you a day access to Les Deux Alps which is about 30mins drive away. Close by is the National Park of Ecrins, with stunning unspoilt scenery. The town of Bourg d'Oisans is worth a visit especially on Saturday mornings for the market.
The villages of venoc and St Cristophe are very beautifu mountain villages.
The Alpe d'Huez / Oz Station area
Oz Station has all the facilities you need, Ski School, Ski Hire, and nursery slopes & Toboggon area. In the village itself there is a small supermarket, boulangerie (2), swimming pool, ice rink.
Alpsd'Huez boasts the longest black ski run in Europe, even though the lower sections are not really black...but it is a great run. The runs above Vaujany tnd to be quieter than around Alp d'Huez.
Summertime there is a amazing selection of mountain bike routes from cross country to crazy downhill runs. And of course the famour 21 hairpin bends of the Tour de France, route up to Alps d'Huez.

This apartment is one to know about. It is in a brilliant position being adjacent to the ski school and a stone's throw from the lifts to the bigger ski area of Alpe d'Huez. So all that hassle of carrying skis any distance is taken away. In fact we (2 adults and 4 children) were very lucky as we could ski directly from the slopes to the flat's ski locker as the snow was so good. This I'm told is quite unusual. The apartment is fitted out brilliantly and we really enjoyed the extensive DVD collection in the evenings. During the day due to its convenient position we were able to come back for lunch and sit watching the world in glorious sunshine from the main balcony over looking Oz en Oisan. You can get to the patisserie next door in your slippers in the morning and in the evening we had take out pizzas from the restaurant downstairs. All perfect luxury - we have already booked for next year! |

What an amazing holiday Les Myrtilles was for me, my husband and our 2 kids aged 9 & 5. We usually stay in hotels in Austria that are close to ski school to make those busy mornings easier. But we couldn't get any closer this year! The ski locker room was outside the ESF office, with just a 5 metre ski down to the meeting point. Then for us it was a ski down to the alpe d'huez gondola, or a 5 min walk up to the Vaujany gondola ( nice big green practice run up there that's very quiet) with a great red all the way back down to the back of the apartment. The skiing here is fantastic, loads of choice, all get you back to the apartment. We also spent ages sledging in the special area on the nursery slopes, or outside one of the bars near the gondola. Kids were in heaven! The flight to Grenoble and taxi transfer was without a hitch, the transfer was 320 euros return, a lot but it was just the 4 of us. Getting into the pedestrian only village in a lift was different, but again very close to the apartment. Wheelie bags for us next time though..... The apartment is brilliantly located. Well stocked with kitchen equipment (loads of crockery and cutlery). There are some condiments, which made cooking easy. There is a good, small supermarket, a lovely patisserie (gorgeous baguettes and tarts). We did have takeaway pizza twice, but mostly i cooked pasta and we stayed in watching movies from the extensive library, and a few kids ones we brought too. There was plenty of space for all our clothes, bags, snow boots, coats, salopettes etc. big dining table next to the huge window/balcony overlooking the village. The kids started the week in separate rooms, then went in together (after watching Jurassic park.....). Great upstairs rooms, yes they have sloped ceilings but they are just for sleeping, and the kids thought they were great! We also spent most nights in the whirlpool bath, which I particularly loved. There was loads of very hot water, and the apartment was nice and warm too when you got out. The village at night was very quiet, but I think we chose a quiet week, and it meant the slopes were perfect! One thing I did miss, the Austrian food and drink. But would I stay in this apartment again? Absolutely I would. It was like a home from home and the owners communication/information has been helpful and timely throughout. We would wholeheartedly recommend Les Myrtilles and the village of Oz en Oisans to all families with children or groups who don't want/need nightlife. Brilliant! |

Our family stayed in the apartment during the Christmas week of 2012. The apartment and Oz village are superb. The apartment is on top floor (3rd) and offers a beautiful view, ski in and out facility and has sizeable ski lockers in basement. The amenities of the village do not necessitate using your car for grocery shopping or visiting restaurants. Our son enjoyed the father Christmas (with his support staff...) and (real) deer coming to visit on Christmas day. Village is very family orientated and there is easy access to the Alp d'Huez ski resort via one gondola. Also, the mini ski area (passed the ski lift) includes a magic carpet ski lift and mini slope which helped a lot to teach our little one to ski. The mini ski area requires NO ski pass. |
