Home description
4 self catering apartments with modern facilities, balconies & sun terraces. 3 apartments sleep 2 - 4 people in each and The Penthouse sleep 8 -10. It has suberb mountain views. In Spring, Summer and Autumn the ideal starting point for beautiful walks and bike tours. Holidays in ‘Austria’s most beautiful village’ clear air, lush meadows and breathtaking mountain views. Alpbach’s image is unique in Europe. Be it walking, hiking, mountain biking, paragliding, wild water rafting, swimming in the natural bathing lakes, tennis, horse riding – or simply relaxing and recuperating, enjoying the beautiful scenery. Alpbach is an idyllic.
Alpbach was awardred the ‘white oscar’. This award in the gold category is conferred by The Good Skiing and Snowboarding Guide’ for the best small resort of the year in Europe. Maybe small, but Alpbach sure makes up for it. Powder snow and fabulous firn on 45 km ski runs and undiluted ski and snowboard fun await you. Untouched sunny slopes for off piste skiing.- Other activities include: snow shoe walking, sledding, horse drawn sleigh rides, skating. Spar, sauna an massage available in the hotel 2 minutes from Haus Hislop. The nearest ski lift a 2 minute walks away!
Harmony, security, beauty and cultural identity play an all important part in Alpbach. Alpbachers have stuck to building regulations implemented in 1953 and you can see and feel the prevalent harmony with ALL building in the tradtional tyrolean style.

The Austrian Alps / Salzburgerland / Tyrol/Tirol region
Sunny slopes and breathtaking panoramas in the Alpbachtal skiing region. 20 modern lifts that give access to over 50km of pistes throughout the region. Typical mountain huts, traditional restaurants and ski bars entice you to take timeout. Beginners of all ages are well catered for by the 4 ski schools. Cross country trails lead the ski`ar through a magical winters landscape. Least taxing winter recreation is walking, about 200km of cleared marked paths available. The new trend is snow shoe walking. For tobogganing fans the region offers exciting runs. A horse drawn sleigh ride is the ultimate romantic experience.
Alpbach Valley and the Tiroler Lake District lies in the midst of impressive mountain scenery between the Kitzbüler Alps and the Rofan Range, 1000m above sea level. With its romantic landscape and attractive skiing and snowboarding facilities, this Tirolean village is a genuine winters fairy tale. In Spring, Summer and Autumn experience the magic of the mountains with extensive hiking, mountain biking, and inviting natural bathing lakes.
Also paragliding in Kramsach, about 20 mins away. All year round skiing and snowboarding at the glacier in Hintertux, about an hour away. Horse riding in Kramsach, about 15 mins. Hot air ballooning in St Johann, about 45 mins. Numerous water parks and adventure play grounds and parks 20 mins. One of my favourite things is flower picking in the lush meadows. A large concrete skate park 'The Cradle' in Brixlegg 15 mins away that is another beauty. One of the best in Europe. Big smooth hips, spines, and corners will let you fly. This park also features the worlds first 'cradle'. It's a capsule that's over vert at the end of a bowl.
Mountains and nature combine to form the centre of an enjoyable holiday. Over 900km of well marked walking and hiking paths await the mountain lover. Climb/ hike any degree of difficulty or mountain bike the powerful inspirational world. Discover the radiant mountain backdrop of the Rofan, the Wiedersberger Horn and Gratlpitz. 360 degree beautiful panoramic views.
The natural deep blue lakes in the area are perfect for swimming, boating, diving, splashing around or just relaxing. The more adventurous will find a lot of action with wild water swimming, tubing, rafting and kayaking in the gorges and canyons of the rushing mountain streams and rivers.
How to get there
Closest airports: Innsbruck at 50 kilometres. Munich and Salzburg one and a half hours drive. (Cheaper flights as oppose to Innsbruck)
Nearest motorway: Take the A12 motorway to the exit Kramsach. (Haus Hislop about 9km from there).
Nearest railway station: Brixlegg (about 8km from Haus Hislop). Express trains stop at Jenbach or Wörgl (Haus Hislop about 20km from the station).
Car: Not necessary but recommended out of the ski season to explore the region more easily.
Taxi: The cost of a taxi from Innsbruck airport is € 95 a 40 minute drive. From Salzberg and Munich €190. Both an hour and a half drive. I would advise to book sooner rather than later especially in the high seasons.
TRAINS - Services are excellent and frequent trains run from Innsbruck, Salzburg (The train station is a 10 minute bus or 5 minute taxi ride from the airport). Trains run from Munich airport. Express trains (ICE, IC,EC) stop at the express train stations Jenbach or Wörgl (both stations are about 15km from Inneralpbach. Regional trains stop at Brixlegg or Rattenberg stations. SPECIAL HOLIDAY TRAINS in the winter . The best airports to fly to are Salzberg or Munich. They are a 1 ½ drive from Inneralpbach (Innsbruck is the closest but tends to be more expensive as it is surrounded by mountains and the cheaper airlines tend not to fly there) BOOKING FLIGHTS please look at the following carriers for cheap deals :Je2, Ryan Air and Thomson fly.

The gondola station is situated down the hill on the right. A 5 minute walk from Haus Hislop. The nearest lift is the T- bar lift which is a 2 minute walk down the hill. It takes you up to the tree line and the run down is a red one. You can ski back to the T- bar or ski to the gondola station that takes you up to the top of the mountain, The magnificent Wiedersbergerhorn. It's about a 15 minutes ride up. The meeting point for ski school is located very close by. The top of the mountain is where the blue runs are and for the intermediates and advanced, it is the starting point for red and black runs. You can leave your skis, poles and boots at the gondola station. Your boots will be dried and disinfected. It would save you from carrying them back to Haus Hislop. There is a ski room though and if you come down red route 5 and come to the T- bar lift then it would only be a 2 minute walk to Haus Hislop. Route 8 finishes at the gondola although just befoer the end there is a rope lift that enables you to be able to ski down to the T bar bar haus Hislop. It is a ski in ski out place.

Guestbook
We spent our Easter break returning to our favourite haunt of Alpbach, Austria, to catch the last of the skiing season. The pistes have been kept in excellent condition. We stayed at Haus Hislop, a four apartment house in Inneralpbach, run by Claire Hislop. Beautifully maintained and decorated, and easy access to the slopes (its a bus ride if you stay in Alpbach itself) the best restaurant in the region 'The Zirmalm' is two minutes walk away, the ski instructors take their groups there for lunch its that good. We will definitely be returning, its the only reason I can get to work on a Monday morning is the thought that its one week closer to our return. Julia & Brian - Coventry
A group of families with small kids stayed at Haus Hislop in March 2007 and the accommodation was very clean and worked really well with the kids. Two of the apartments have a shared deck which is lovely. Claire is very friendly and is well known in Inner Alpbach. She arranged for us to eat at the Zirmalm restaurant which is 1 minutes walk away and offered superb value meals. I loved the fact that you could arrange to leave your ski gear at the gondola station which was about 5-6 minutes walk away. We will visit again and we had a great holiday. Alison-Yorkshire
