Home description

The house is very comfortable and spacious with a balcony and roof terrace equipped with sun loungers, chairs and tables. Ideal for sight seeing, walkers, bird watchers with easy access to Ronda, Malaga and Marbella. Day trips to Granada, Cordoba and Seville are recommended.

The village is unspoiled and quaint. Local bars are traditional and serve good range of tapas and local cuisine. Two good restaurants with more wide range of European food. There are a number of small grocers, fish, butcher and bakers shops. Local people are very friendly and happy to chat. The village has regular markets, festivals and horse fairs which are very colourful and involve the whole village.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region

Alozaina is located in a protected biosphere. Agricultural area with olive, orange, lemon and almond groves. The ancient town of Ronda is about 40 minutes away with Roman remains and the oldest bullring in Spain. At nearby Teba the heart of Robert the Bruce was thrown into a battle with the Moors by the Templar Knights, Sinclar and Douglas. The knights were taking his heart to the Holy Land. There is a monument to the event in town square. Teba also has a spectacular castle.

Apart from places of historic interest we are under an hour to the beaches at Marbella and Fuengirola. Puerta Banus has all leading designer shops. Malaga is around 45 minutes away and has Picasso museum, Roman amphitheatre and Moorish castle. Malaga also has an excellent sandy beach.


Alozaina area

Alozaina has buildings going back to Moorish times. The castle grounds are now used for village festivals. There are large processions at Easter and local Saints days. In October there is the Olive Fair which goes on for three days. Local flamenco dancers and village band are very popular.

Daily budget flights from UK to Malaga Airport. Easyjet, Ryanair and Globespan are worth contacting.

Our house is 45 kilometres from Malaga airport and a car is recommended. Excellent road system from the coast to the village.

Car hire is good value in Spain. Useful sites are rentspain.com and sixt.com. The journey takes under an hour by car. We will supply a step-by-step route plan for you. Mark our agent will meet you at the village and take you to the house and help you settle in

House is on three levels. The street level has master bedroom, second double bedroom and downstairs bathroom with bath, shower, wc and double basins. Stairs from hall lead up to large open plan (20 metres) lounge/kitchen. Terrace off the kitchen with staircase to upper sun terrace. Large utility room with washing machine/iron and storage.

The basement studio is accessed from a separate door and has two single beds, shower room with WC. ideal for parties with older children or couples who may enjoy their own space.

House has an interior double garage with remote control door access - a welcome benefit in traditional villages where streets were designed for mules!

Further details outdoors:
Terrace off kitchen has two sofas with cushions and sun chairs. There are sun shades and parasol. Roof terrace has sun loungers and framed sun shelter. Ideal for alfresco dining and BBQ's.

We do not have a swimming pool but the community pool is only 5 minutes walk away.

We are happy to have smokers if they smoke on the terraces -not in the house please.


Conditions

We prefer weekly/two weekly bookings. We will consider shorter stays at a minimum of 4 days. Also willing to consider longer lets (3 week and over) and will negotiate rental accordingly.
