Don’t forget to down load these instructions
Arriving by Air into Malaga Airport
Upon your arrival at Malaga Airport, from terminal 1 or 2 having collected your luggage and car. Pick up the first signs for Malaga N340.
Proceed out of the Airport in the direction of Malaga/Cadiz N340
(Remember you now drive on the other side of the road and give way to traffic from the left) (Please set you kilometre counter on your car to zero)
I say this, as you will encounter your first roundabout on the exit of the airport. After you have gone round this roundabout following the signs for Malaga/Cadiz N340 the road will take you up and round a long right hand bend and onto the Motorway. It is ok to stay in this lane, as you will actually be bearing to the right in a bit; a big Macro is on the left, and just after this you will be going right onto the “Ronda de Malaga Mortal and Antequera road. Next signs will show “Ronda de Malaga”, “Motril” and the “N331 Antequera”, stay in the right hand lane as you are going to take this exit, you bend round to the right and over some speed bumps. You have now joined the main N340.Stay in this lane. After 1 kilometre there is a long slip road on the right. On the left you can see a funny silver/grey triangular shaped building, move over to the right to get into this slip road, BEWERE it splits up ahead to the right and left!!! Stay to the left following the white sign to Cartama and Universidad, now you have to filter over to the left, following the sign for “CARTAMA” there is a little sign indicating Cartama A357 AND THE ROAD BENDS ROUND TO THE RIGHT. So long as you get on the A357 after approx 10 kilometres you are going in the right direction. (By the way if you do get lost at any point you need the A357 to Cartama please stop if you think you have gone wrong anybody will help you. just ask. So now that you are on the A357 travel down this road which is a motorway with blue motorway signs heading for Álora. You pass a Volvo Truck Garage set back from the road which is on your left hand side now you are going to stay on this road for quite a while. You pass a football pitch on the right you pass the village of Cartama which will be on your left, pass a first green petrol station on your right hand side that is set up slightly from the main road. Go past this petrol station. Eventually the motorway will come to an end make sure that you stay on it till the end until you pass a green BP garage on your right hand side, you then go over a long bridge , which is the Bridge for the RIO GRANDE. Go over the Rio Grande.
The next signs to look out for are the sign indicating A343 Álora/ Pizzara to the right. You can go right here but I recommend that you stay on the road till the next right turning Go right and stay on this road. You will come to the first sign that Indicates Alora to the left. Keep going and then you will come to a large sign that indicates Álora to the left and the first indication for Valle De Abdalajis. Go round the roundabout and carry straight on. Remember to ask if you feel you might be wrong. Stay on this road till you come to another roundabout indication Alora to the Left and Valle De Abdalajis straight on and it is now 16 kilometres to the village. Go straight on. There is a little roundabout just after this sign “remember traffic from your left has priority”. Stay on this road bending slightly to the right and out of the Village of Álora and on up to the Valle de Abdalajis that is only16 Kilometres away there are green road markers on the side of the road indicating the kilometres to Antequera, keep looking for them as these will help you to count down the kilometres to go you want Km 28. On entering “Valle de Abdalajis” there is a large tiled sign and two road signs on the right the first indicates petrol 100Mtrs and immediately after this is a green kilometres 29 sign, you will have been counting these down so it should not be missed. Carry on till you go over a blue and white bridge just after this bridge turn left into the village you go over a few speed bumps and then you will see a big map of the village on the left hand side we will be there waiting for you. It is exactly 60 kilometres to village from the airport
