About the home

A quiet location, but not away from it all.As both a base for activity holidays,sight seeing or just to relax by the pool.Set in beautiful countryside, but not isolated. Between the national parks of Torcal and El Chorro, (where "Von Ryans' Express " was filmed,) we have some of the most spectacular scenery.There are numerous activities available close by, including rock climbing, horse riding, hang-gliding, cycling,golf at numerous golf courses and walking ( with the local goat herders if you would like).

For the less energetic, we can recommend lazing in the sun on one of the many terraces and soaking up the pleasure of relaxing ,in a true home from home.

Our home consists of two upstairs bedrooms( one twin, one double), both with en-suite shower rooms and a shared outside terrace. Downstairs we have a double bedroom next to a shower room,( for those with limited mobility who do not wish to climb stairs).Both upstairs bedrooms have access onto a balcony overlooking the pool and garden.We also have a travel cot and stair gate available, so as to make our smaller guests feel at home.Downstairs is open plan ,with a fully fitted American klitchen complete with dishwasher, microwave, full cooker,etc.Satellite TV is provided( bring your own card if you wish more channels),Video and DVD players,cd player and stereo . Books and games for different age groups are also to be found here.

Outside we have various terraces for both sun and shade,sun beds are provided.Located ouside we have a "summer kitchen",consisting of BBQ,full cooker, sink and workspaces.For those wishing to dine "al fresco" there are table and chairs.At night, there is outside lighting so that you can make the most of the evenings,( an ideal opportunity to star gaze, as little or no light pollution-depending on whether you put the lightson or off).

A welcome pack of basics is provided on arrival.
A larger shop can be pre-arranged,if required-(shops here are closed on Sundays) also useful if you are arriving later and do not wish to shop on the first days. Evening meals can also be provided,if needed, at extra cost.
The owners live in the adjacent property and are available to answer your questions,etc.
Many of our guests have become friends.
We are always happy to help if we can.

The Andalucia / Malaga Province region

A surprise to some, our countryside is both varied and beautiful.We are in one of the most interesting parts of southern Spain.With beautiful sunshine for most of the year, there really is no excuse not make the most of it.Surrounded by history,( with Cordoba, Seville and Granada all about an hour and a half away) and spectacular scenery there is plenty of choice for everyone.
Set between two villages, we have plenty of good shops and restaurants to choose from. Local dishes are well worth a try.

The Alora / Laja Prieta area

Alora is one of the famous "White Villages" of Andalucia- narrow streets hiding lots of places of interest crowned by a Moorish castle overlooking the valley below. There is always something going on with plenty of local fiestas to enjoy.
El Valle de Abdalajis is smaller than its larger neighbour, but just as interesting, nestling at the foot of the hills that surround the lakes.
Rock climbing, hill walking, horse riding, hang gliding, mountain biking are but a few of the activities on offer nearby as are photography, cookery and pottery classes. Nestling between two national parks, we have scenery you will need a camera for, try El Chorro, where "Von Ryans' Express was filmed, with its' deep gourge set in pine woods, the beautiful lakes and watch eagles soar in the skies above.

Malaga airport , which is serviced by most of the British budget airlines, as well as British Airways on a daily basis, is approximately 36km from our house.
Car hire companies are too numerous to mention, both on the web and at the airport.
We have a railway station,( 9km away), in the local town which connects to the airport via Malaga.
