Grooms Cottage is an idyllic and luxurious example of Northumberland accommodation that is designed as a couples retreat. Placed perfectly in the Vale of Whittingham this cottage is a beautiful example of the breathtaking accommodation Northumberland has to offer. It has only recently been completed but it has been decorated to an extremely high standard and the private courtyard that it is placed in makes it perfect for a romantic getaway.

Grooms Cottage is stunningly designed inside with a quaint wood burning stove, a beautiful bedroom with a luxurious four poster bed and stunning en-suite bathroom. When you book luxurious accommodation Northumberland rarely disappoints. There is simply no better place to obtain some quality time away with your partner.

The Northern England / Northumberland region

The northerly county of Northumberland is a hidden gem of totally unspoilt countryside and wonderful long stretches of pristine sandy beaches.If you want to stretch your legs and breathe in clean country air this is the place for you, with miles of wide open spaces and magnificent views. The county has three distinct sub regions; a coastline stretching some forty miles with quiet sandy beaches and pretty coastal harbour villages. Inland visitors will find dramatic rolling moorland and forests, much of which is National Park and to the south of the region is the famous Hadrian's Wall which runs coast to coast and is now a World Heritage Site.Apart from Northumberland's natural assets the county is steeped in history and has had a turbulent past which is characterised by more than its fair share of castles and ancient hill forts, some of which were built to repel Viking invaders. It was also the scene of the border wars and conflicts between the English and Scots in the 14th-16th century.

The Alnwick / Glanton area

The location, is absolutely breathtaking. There are an endless number of romantic country walks and picnic locations within minutes of the cottage. The River Coquet runs through the middle of the town and the soothing sound that it offers you night and day is truly the icing on the cake of this property. During the summer months walks along the river are a delight.
