Gianna is a small well designed property of ten apartments located in the centre of Almirida. It is complemented by a good size mosaic-tiled pool and separate children's pool. The apartments are built on three floors and have views to the pool area and the White Mountains. The excellent design includes a stone arch entrance with a marble staircase leading to the first and second floors. There are only seven one bedroom apartments/suites, two studios and one two-bedroom apartment. Great attention is paid to detail and the place is perfect for couples and families.

Shops, cafes and restaurants are just 100 meters walk away, and so is the beautiful shallow and sandy beach of Almirida, which is great for adults and children.

Part of this beach is lined with excellent tavernas serving fresh seafood or homemade local food. At one end of the beach is the small fishing harbour, and the other end has a sheltered small sandy beach and a white pebbly beach, excellent for snorkelling.

Gianna apartments are licensed for holiday rentals with the Greek Tourist Authorities (EOT).

About this location

The Chania Prefecture region

Welcome to beautiful Crete and Hania, a heavenly and pure land brimming with natural beauty, history, memory and culture. It is a land whose visitors will experience nature in all its glory and will encounter breathtaking sights.

Endless stretches of seashore bordered in frothy lace, inlets and islands of exotic beauty and sandy beaches tucked away at the foot of forbidding mountains. Impenetrable but yet such majestic gorges, holy caves, blessed rivers and lush, green plains, thickly covered with olive and citrus trees. It is a self-sufficient land in every way that is rich in endemic and rare flora and fauna.

The works of art produced by man will also not leave any visitor indifferent. He will bow with awe in respect for the intimidating remains of past civilizations that still stand proud, examples of creative spirit and signs of human futility, vigorous warriors of bitter and ravenous time. He will relive moments of legend, history and glory since memories of the past will awaken and resurrect themselves in his passing. Here he will satiate his hunger for colour and aroma, he will savour original and unique tastes, and he will overhear stories about experiences taken from the passion and wisdom of a people whose roots and endurance are embedded deep in history. He will live intense contrasts and feelings, he will juxtapose the old with the new and he will respect modern life through the eyes of wisdom gained from tradition. Perhaps most importantly, the visitor will encounter people who recognize life's gifts and value. The Cretan soul will infuse him with the feeling of true hospitality and will leave him mesmerized and forever partial to its beauty.

Welcome to beautiful Hania.

Let yourself enjoy everything it so generously has to offer.

The large bay that makes up the seaside resorts of Almirida and Kalives has many separate, safe, sandy beaches, usually with full facilities. Almirida, once a fishing village is now a thriving seaside resort with a windsurfing school.

The seaside tavernas and bars have a great atmosphere. There are a couple of mini-markets, a bakery, patisserie, wine shops and an ATM facility. Mountain bikes can be hired and there is also a small taxi rank. There is a first class boutique hotel in the centre, open to non-residents to use the top terrace infinity pool and the 10-bin bowling lane. Excellent area for walking, swimming and dining!

At the small harbour, boats can be hired for boat trips to the sea-caves and secluded small beaches nearby.

"A little disappointed"

The collection from the airport is a real bonus, thank you. The area around the apartments very good & Adonis very welcoming. Daniella is a lovely girl & very thorough, with attention to detail. Hig… More

Thank you for your review.
Apologies for the tea, bottled water and coffee missing! HAd we known that the owners do not provide these any longer we would of placed some in the studio for you!
It is a surprise that you did not mention the problem of odor from the outside drain, during your stay, as we could resolve it while you were there!
As you had a studio, the bathrooms in the studios at Gianna are smaller than the standard size bathrooms in the one bedroom apartments. Thank you for your comments on the service and staff, looking forward to see you again!

"Great value appartments, with very friendly staff"

We booked these apartments last minute, they were great value. Although the area isn't the prettiest in Crete, the apartments were good and the beach and local shops and restaurants are about a 3-5 minute walk away. The apartments are simple, but spotlessly clean and the pool and bar area is kept beautifully. Antonis and his sister are extremely helpful and friendly. There are a few restaurants in the local village/town, which again have friendly staff and good value. If you drive out a bit you find the more authentic villages and some lovely tavernas and some great beaches.
