Home description
Hidden away in the historic cobbled streets of Almunecar you will find this gem of a house. Totally renovated in 2005, the house is full of charm and character. If you are seeking a truly Spanish experience then this is the place for you. The house has a secluded, flower filled, andalucian patio garden with a shaded dining area. On the first floor there is a terrace with heated spa which comfortably seats 6 people. On the roof is a large terrace with sun bathing area and views of the mountains and town. All this within walking distance of Almunecar's unique boutique shops, bars, restaurants and night life. The house is just minutes from the beach, tropical gardens and Moorish castle. The local fresh fish market, fruit and vegatable market and a supermarket are all at the end of the street. There's even a bakery just a few doors away, where you can buy freshly baked bread each morning. No need to hire a car since everything you could possibly need is practically on your doorstep.

The Costa Tropical/Granada region
The area is known as the Costa Tropical because of the all year round sunny climate. This coastal area begins just after Nerja and is very different from the Costa del Sol. The stunning cliffs of Cerro Gordo shelter some beautiful coves and beaches. The Punta de la Mona is a pine clad headland where you will discover the attractive Marina del Este which offers a range of water sports and pretty harbourside restaurants. Moving towards Almunecar is the pretty horse shoe bay of La Herradura . To the east of Almunecar is the whitewashed village of Salobrena with the peaks of the Sierra Nevada in the background. One and half hour drive will take you to the ski resorts of the Sierra Nevada or the beautiful countryside of the Alpujjaras. The historic city of Granada with the amazing Alhambra palace and gardens is just one hour away.
Almunecar area
Almunecar and its handsome Moorish castle sit on a small hill between the mouths of two rivers. Almunecar has managed to retain the atmosphere and character of an old Spanish town with winding narrow streets and tapas bars. Besides tourism, fishing and the growing of tropical fruits remain at the heart of the town's day to day life. Almunecar has beaches with good facilities - beach beds and parasols for hire, showers and toilets and life-guards in high season. The beach fronts are lined with typical Spanish restaurants and bars serving delicious seafood and tapas. The town has a water park, bird park and botanical gardens. There is an open air market every Friday selling Spanish leather goods and pottery as well as bargain clothing. The first Saturday of each month is the craft and flea market- well worth a browse.
How to get there
Almunecar is situated about one hours drive from either Malaga or Granada airports. Both these airports are well served with filghts from many UK airports and bargain flights are available from airlines like Easy Jet, Ryan Air. BMI baby and Thomson.
The house is situated in the town close to all amenities. Car hire is not needed.

Single bedroom ( with fold away bed underneath) overlooking patio garden and spa terrace. Both bedrooms lead onto a landing area that has French windows leading out onto the terrace with seating area and jacuzzi spa. There is also a shower room fitted with shower cubicle, toilet and sink . Second Floor This has a twin room and a double room . There is a large landing area which has a double sofa bed. This could be used to sleep 2 extra guests if needed. Selection of CDs, DVDs and VHS videos provided. Selection of board games provided.
Travel cots and high chairs are available on request.

25 % deposit required on booking with the remainder payable 8 weeks before holiday.
Refundable breakages deposit of £200 is required to be paid with the balance. This will be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
