About the home

LOS PINOS is a spacious, light, family house situated in the urbanization of Los Pinos which is set on a hill with views over the pretty, traditionally Spanish town of Almunecar and the mountains behind.

The house has three spacious bedrooms, two doubles and one twin. It also has three bathrooms, one ensuite to the master bedroom and two further bathrooms.

There is a large open plan living and dining room with separate modern kitchen equipped with all the necessary appliances.

A private courtyard at the back of the house provides an ideal sun trap with table and chairs for dining alfresco. At the front of the house there is a fabulous chill out area with cushioned seating - the perfect place for cocktails at the end of the day!

The urbanization has a large communal swimming pool which is open from June - September. Alternatively, the beach is only a ten minute walk away.

The Costa Tropical region

The climate in the Costa Tropical is superb - the mild winds from the north of Africa and the warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea, along with the freshness provided by the nearby mountains in Sierra Nevada, create a unique micro climate within Europe.

With more than 320 sunny days a year and an average temperature of 20 the Costa Tropical translates as a heavenly place. Almuñécar, Motril and Salobreña are the most popular destinations among tourists. Its extensive beaches, with thick sand and clear blue waters, have been repeatedly awarded the exclusive eco-label Blue Flag, which confirms the high quality and cleanness of the Costa Tropical shoreline. These beaches draw thousands of both Spanish and foreign visitors. However, this area does not suffer the problems affecting other regions.

The tourism boom that took place in Spain during the 60s and 70s arrived late to the Costa Tropical and that is why it has successfully kept away from becoming a grey urbanized and tourist-stricken land mass like other parts of Spain.

The Almunecar area

Almuñécar and its handsome Moorish castle sit on a small hill between the mouths of two rivers - the Río Seco and the larger Río Verde. The latter runs through Almuñécar's Tropical Valley, a fertile area of mainly subtropical fruit orchards that line the valley floor and climb the terraced hillsides.

To the west of the town lies the Punta de la Mona, a pineclad headland sheltering the attractive Marina del Este sports port and home to a number of luxury urbanisations. Beyond, is Bay of La Herradura, the pretty village and horseshoe-shaped bay of La Herradura and another large natural promontory, Cerro Gordo, which marks the end of the municipality and province. Inland, the approximately 80 km² municipality rises into the hills which form an impressive backdrop to the coast. Farmhouses and small hamlets dot the area overlooked by the Peña Escrita natural park.

We are based in the beautiful Spanish village of La Herradura on the Costa Tropical, in the Province of Granada, Andalucia. The area is served by airports in Malaga, 50 minutes drive away, and in Granada, a 70 minutes drive. The nearest large towns are Almunecar, 4 miles to the east, and the well known resort of Nerja, 7 miles to the west of the village.

The nearest airports to this area are Malaga and Granada and they are served by numerous airlines, Easyjet, Ryanair, Aer Lingus, Thomson and many more.

Car hire is very popular in this region giving customers the flexible to go sightseeing.

Cancellation Fees:

45 - 31 days in advance of arrival 50% of the whole fee will be retained.

30 to 15 days in advance of arrival 70% of the whole fee will be retained

14 to 1 day in advance of arrival 100% of the whole fee will be retained.

A cash deposit for damage breakages will be required on arrival (amount to be advised on booking) which subject to no damages/breakages will be returned on departure

Costa Tropical Villas and Apartments accept no responsibility for losses, damages or injuries sustained by any client. All clients are responsible for ensuring they have adequate insurance in place for each person in the holiday group

A change of bed linen will be provided to clients halfway through their stay for bookings of 14 nights. For bookings over 14 nights a change of bed linen will normally be supplied for the clients to manage. If extra cleaning is required, then an hourly rate can be provided for this.
