A well placed first floor 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the golf course and close to beach, shops, restaurants and local marina. A well-equipped apartment with a private terrace. This apartment is ideal for families and couples alike and comprises a lounge which has patio doors leading to the balcony overlooking the swimming pool. The apartment has 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom plus bathroom and the well equipped kitchen has oven and hob, extractor, fridge, plus microwave and washing machine. All crockery and cutlery and utensils are provided here.
Velas Blancas overlooks a 27 hole golf course, offering some great golf, as well as an established social scene. The resort has an excellent supermarket and a variety of small shops which are a 15 minute walk from the apartment. The local bus service stops at the entrance to the apartment complex. Close to the apartment you will find a beach, sailing, and water skiing.

The apartment has a range of cooking facilities, pots and pans to cater for your dining requirements, we also have a range of inflatables for the pool , plus various toys and games which are handy to keep the kids happy, in addition to books and a selections of DVDs to watch. We also provide all towels/linen.
(N.B. We would ask that you bring your own beach towels although you are of course free to make use of all other sports/tennis racquets and beach equipment you find in the property).
There is no telephone line available in the apartment. However, mobile phone coverage is very good. If you require internet access, this is available at the Melia hotel.
A baby travel cot is in the apartment for your use
A full size "camp bed" is also available to use

The Andalucia region
Costa de Almeria is a place with glorious coastal views and many delightful beaches and is famous for being the sunniest and warmest in Spain, where the sun shines for 320 days a year.
It is often regarded as the driest region in Europe, with an annual average temperature of 19ºC and just 100mm of rain per year.
There are many places to visit and lots to do, including the nature reserve, scenic walks, shopping malls and go-karting. Mini Hollywood at Tabernas, is a cowboy themed park with a zoo, where many westerns have been filmed and is worth a visit.
Granada is approximately 2 hours drive away where you can visit the Alhambra Palace (very early start to the day is recommended to gain entry) or visit the ski resorts of the Sierra Nevada. Excellent skiing here.
Almerimar is a quiet area which is home to one of Spain’s largest marinas. The marina is surrounded by local bars and restaurants that can be reached by strolling along the Marine Promenade which stretches from the marina for approximately 3km along the beach.
The beach is also very clean with crystal clear seas and also many bars and eateries along the promenade. Almerimar has a 27 hole championship golf course designed by Gary Player. Fishing trips are available from the marina.
The resort has an excellent supermarket and a variety of small shops which are a 15-minute walk from the apartment. Just a 5 minute drive away you will find a substantial commercial centre, including hypermarket, numerous shops, go-karting, cinemas, amusement arcade, restaurants, McDonalds. There is also a Tourist Information Office at this commercial centre. In the local town of El Ejido, there is a weekly outdoor market every Wednesday morning.
Roquetas de Mar is approximately 20 minutes drive away and is home to the Salt Marshes where you will be able to enjoy long walks taking in the wildlife and birds of the area. Roquetas is also home to Mario Water Park (open high season only) the new Aquarium and the new Roller Skating Rink and dance studio. There is a large shopping complex here (Gran Plaza) with all types of shops, bars and restaurants available and huge hypermarket.

"Absolutely wonderful holiday"

"Would definitely revisit"
I went to the apartment with two friends. The apartment has absolutely everything that you could possibly need. The people in the neighbouring apartments were really friendly and helpful. We didn't actually have a rental car and caught buses from Almeria airport which was absolutely no problem and only cost a few euros. The bus stops are almost right outside the apartment, however, it is only a short walk to the supermarket and local beaches. We would certainly recommend and revisit !

we stayed here for a week with our teenage daughter the directions to get to the apartment were very easy to follow that darren the owner had sent us. the apartment its self was very spacious and very clean.there was a good selection of books and games and dvd's to use and also a large selection of pool inflatables and beach balls.the kitchen is well equiped which you dont often get it was like home from home. the views from the balcony are lovely watching the sun set every night was great and at around 8pm you see the bats flying around the same in the morning.the marina is about a 10 to 15 min walk where there is a selection of resturants to eat at and very reasonable prices the pizza place was good but the best value for money we found was the stumble inn at the marina the portions where huge for as little as 7 euro very accomadating as our daughter is vegatarian and they cooked her a meal to suit her that wasnt on the menu.
the beach is very nice we spent time at the marina end near the nature reserve hardly anyone on the beach which was nice and had a cafe bar if you wanted a coffee.
places to visit we found the best place was the oasys theme park in tabernas well worth the money it has a mini hollywood and water park and zoo all in the price being oct the water park wasnt open but plenty to see and do ,also almeria was nice but the shops were closed when we went on the friday as it was a fiesta day but we went up to the castle which is free to look around also roquettes de mar on the thurs and they had the market overall a very enjoyable holiday and would go back again. you do need a car though to get about.
