The apartment is in a quiet area and has access to a shared swimming pool, landscaped area, south facing balcony, and sea views. Velas Blancas overlooks a 27 hole golf course, offering some great golf, as well as an established social scene. The resort has an excellent supermarket and a variety of small shops which are a 15 minute walk from the apartment. The local bus service stops at the entrance to the apartment complex. Close to the apartment you will find a beach, sailing, and water skiing.

The Costa de Almeria region

The Andalusian province of Almeria can be found in south-eastern Spain. This beautiful and largely unspoilt region features more than 200 miles of dramatic coastline. The weather is superb, as Almeria boasts one of the driest and sunniest climates in Europe with around 320 days of sunshine. The average temperature is 27º in summer and 15º in winter.

Evenings are also fine in the peak months and during the off-peak summer months, a light jacket is recommended for those sea breezes, but can still expect great sunbathing in the hot daytime sunshine. Whether you visit in the winter or summer months, you're guaranteed pleasant weather in the Costa de Almeria. The Costa de Almeria region of Spain is full of historical sites and has some wonderful places of interest to visit. With a fantastic climate and more sunny days per year than anywhere else in Spain, the Costa de Almeria is well worth a visit.

The Medieval City of Almeria itself, the Costa Almeria and the major tourist destinations of Granada and Seville are of particular interest as well as the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Almerimar / Velas Blancas area

If you have never taken a holiday in Almerimar previously then you are in for a real treat! Almerimar features one of the largest pleasure marinas in southern Spain , berthing small fishing boats right through to million pound yachts. The marina is surrounded by bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and offers a wide selection of top class food. Velas Blancas overlooks a 27 hole golf course, offering some great golf, as well as an established social scene. The resort has an excellent supermarket and a variety of small shops which are a 15 minute walk from the apartment.

Almerimar has the second largest marina in Spain, with a capacity of 1000 berths and a yacht club. Almerimar is a very safe, family orientated holiday destination. Apart from all the local facilities around the marina there is the beach with a promenade that is close to 3 miles long, with beach bars, beach clubs and boat rides for all the family.
For families the resort has two blue flag beaches, uncrowded, long stretches of sand each side of the marina,with all the facilities you need.

Almerimar is a golfer's paradise. Opposite the apartment is a 27 hole course, the greens are large and fast, many holes affected by water obstacles making it an enjoyable course for players of all levels. A further five golf courses are within a 10 to 40 minutes drive from the apartment, including the famous Desert Springs course.
For walkers, the natural park which is adjacent to the beaches gives the opportunity for seeing different
wildlife and many species of birds.

Just 20 minutes drive there is the resort of Roquetas de Mar, with its own beach, shopping area, amusements, restaurants, very large commercial area, water park and aquarium.

Velas Blancas is only 90 minutes from the ski resort near Granada in the wonderful Sierra Nevada mountains. The scenery is magnificent and the roads are excellent. No visit would be complete without a day trip for all the family to the world famous theme parks of the Tabernas location of some of the most famous Hollywood spaghetti movies like A Fistful of Dollars.

The resort has an excellent supermarket and a variety of small shops which are a 15 walk from the apartment. Just a 5 minute drive away you will find a substantial commercial centre, including hypermarket, numerous shops, go-karting, cinemas, amusement arcade, restaurants, Mc Donalds.There is also a Tourist Information Office at this commercial centre. 5 minutes drive away in El Ejido, there is a weekly outdoor market every Wednesday morning.
