This penthouse apartment has a fantastic position in the luxury Laguna Beach complex, overlooking the main swimming pools and children's pool, tennis and paddle courts and landscaped gardens, as well as having views of the sea, the Sierra Nevada mountains and the adjoining lake and beach. The apartment is furnished to a high standard with full air conditioning/heating and ceiling fans. A lift leads up to the apartment from the fully secure underground parking (which also has a storage room containing beach equipment and bikes that are available for guests to use).

The apartment balcony is ideal for sitting out and watching the activity in the main communal area, whilst the roof terrace is perfect for eating lunch under the shade of the large awning, barbequing and dining under the stars or for secluded sunbathing on the sunbeds.

There is a lift to the apartment from the fully secure underground garage. Fencing, 24 hour security and entry phone access ensures that children are protected from any outside dangers.

Laguna Beach has 3 main pools, with adjoining pools, and 2 children's pools (with lifeguards at all pools). The main pools are open for July and August and a smaller separate pool is open from 1st June to 30th September. There are landscaped gardens with fountains, palm trees and grassed areas, as well as 2 children's playgrounds. The 4 floodlit tennis and paddle courts, the gymnasium with jacuzzi and saunas and table tennis, together with the pools and snack bar ensure that everyone is catered for. The complex has access to the lakeside and is only 200m from the seafront.

Almerimar with its beautifully maintained tree-lined avenues is within easy reach along the landscaped promenade or a 5 minute drive. At its centre there is a very attractive marina, with a good variety of shops, restaurants and bars. Almerimar Golf Course is only 5 minutes away and other nearby attractions include fishing, wind and para surfing, horse riding, the Nature Reserve, water park, aquarium and wild west theme parks

There are 2 wi-fi spots on the complex, with one accessible from the apartment balcony.

The property is cleaned and prepared for your arrival. Maid service during your stay is not included within the price of your holiday. If you require a maid service this must be arranged at the time of booking and at a separate charge. Please note that beach/pool towels are not supplied and these should be taken with you. We kindly ask all guests not to use the towels supplied at the property for the beach or around the pool.

Conditions

The booking is confirmed by payment of a 25% deposit and the balance is required 8 weeks prior to the arrival date. A breakages deposit of £200 is required with the final payment which will be returned in full subject to a satisfactory inspection of the apartment. A local management company will give you the keys and deal with any queries.

The Costa de Almeria region

Almeria is a very attractive city with a variety of historical attractions, shops and pavement cafes, including the beautiful square, the Plaza de la Constitucion. It is home to a magnificent 10th century Moorish castle, Alcazaba, which is the second largest Muslim fortress in Andalusia.

There are 7 golf courses in the Almeria region. Almerimar Golf Course, designed by Gary Player is only 1km from Laguna Beach. Its 27 holes provide challenging golf for players of all levels and has recently been remodelled. Within 20 minutes drive are two other courses. La Envia, built in a mountain basin surrounded by stunning scenery and Playa Serena at Roquetas de Mar, a good quality holiday golf course. Within an hour's drive away - along the excellent fast motorway, are 4 further excellent courses Valle del Este, Desert Springs, Alboran Golf Club and Mojacar Marina - all offering top quality golf.

Although unknown to many, the ancient Andalusian province of Almeria has 200 miles of virtually undeveloped coastline. Enjoying the warmest and sunniest climate in the whole of Europe, with temperatures in January averaging 17°c and in July and August 28°c, and an average of 3,000 hours of sun per year. This historic province was late in developing tourism and although it is now bringing in amenities and facilities for holidaymakers, Almerimar has learnt from the mistakes of the sixties and construction is kept to a low specified height, leaving 60% surface area for parks and green areas and remains one of the most charming and unspoilt regions in Southern Spain.

The Almerimar / Laguna Beach, Almerimar area

Almerimar has the second largest marina in Europe, which is the focus for the variety of restaurants (including Chinese, Italian, English and Indian food as well as local Spanish cuisine), small shops and well-stocked supermarket. An indoor shopping centre and hypermarket are just a 10-minute drive away. The centre also has a number of cafes, restaurants, a multi-screen cinema and go-karting, with a variety of karts for all ages and abilities and a separate children’s track. During the summer there is a local market held every Sunday at the marina and a regular night market. Nearby El Ejido has a bustling market every Wednesday morning with a wide range of products.

Go-karting in Almerimar and Roquetas de Mar.
Sand surfing lessons and pedalos.
Horse riding in the nature park.

The city of Almeria with its fortress, historical architecture and pavement cafes.
The city of Granada is a only a 90 minute drive, with many attractions including the famous Alhambra Palace.
The Alpujarras valley, with its charming villages.
The famous cave houses at Guadix on the Granada Road.
The prehistoric caves at Nerja with fantastic calcium stalagmite and stalactite formations about 45mins drive.
Mini Hollywood - visit the ‘Wild West’ theme parks in the Tabernas Desert, famous for Spaghetti Western films, such as ‘The good, the bad and the ugly’ and see original film sets, can-can shows and Wild West shows.
Cabo de Gata Nature Park - This natural park is the largest coastal nature reserve in Andalucía.

Almerimar is backed by the Sierra Nevada mountains, whose skiing area is only a 2 hour drive from the apartment. This is one of Europe’s highest ski resorts with a long season lasting from November to early May. It is possible to swim in the sea in the morning, ski in the afternoon and be back in time to relax over a meal by the marina.

Almerimar is only a 35 – 40 minute journey from Almeria airport (along an easy un-crowded motorway). There are numerous flights available to Almeria from the UK. Easyjet, Ryan Air and Monarch have daily flights and other regular flights are available with BMI Baby, Jet2.com, Mytravel, First Choice and Flightline. “A hidden gem” We have visited Laguna Beach 3 times and are returning for a 4th time Easter 2012. The penthouse is south facing which means as well as the roof top terrace, the balcony gets the sun all day. Sports facilities are great and bikes with the apartment are an added bonus. The new wi fi is great for our 3 teenagers to keep in touch with life back home.

“Sunshine Break in Almerimar” If you like it hot and relaxed Laguna Beach in Almerimar is the place for you. We could not fault the apartment and the aircon in July was a welcome must. This is a penthouse apartment and the roof terrace was a great extra feature for eating outside and having BBQ's, we had 3 during our stay. The complex is clean and modern and the pool area just what was required, although the bar was disappointing. I found it rather too hot but our teenage girls loved it. Laguna Beach is a car or bike ride from the centre with only one or two restaurants within walking distance on a hot July night. The night life is a bit restricted for teenage girls. We spent some enjoyable lunchtimes in the harbour area, reading the papers and enjoying the free tapas served with every drink you order, a very nice touch. I would certainly go again but not in July and August, so we can explore more of the area without roasting.
