Velas Blancas apartments are in a peaceful and quiet area of Almerimar overlooking all of Almerimar with views of the sea, golf course and the marina. A professional 27 golf course designed by Gary Player is directly opposite, the lovely long stretches of beach are a ten/fifteen minute walk away. The marina is the second largest in Spain has many varied and good restaurants and bars to suit all tastes which are set in a lovely location. The resort has an excellent supermarket and a variety of smaller shops which are a 15 walk from the apartment.
If you enjoying playing golf this a 'golfers paradise' with several more golf courses within a 40 minute drive from Almerimar. Its is also one of the only places in the world where you can ski in the morning and sunbathe in the afternoon, the Sierra Navada ski station being a 90 minute drive away which takes you through some wonderful scenery. The Almeria province offers many interesting places to visit, including Almeria city, the Tabernas desert, the setting for spaghetti westerns etc, the natural park of Cabo de Gata and the Sierra Navada. This is undiscovered Spain at its best.

The Costa de Almeria region
Almeria has 300 days of sunshine per year, fantastic long stretches of uncrowded beaches, miles of natural park, the wonderful Sierra Navada with its famous white villages rich in fascinating folklore.
Visit Almeria city with its famous Alcazaba fortress a magnificent moorish castle built in 955 AD, its 8th century fortified cathedral and its many museums.
The Alpujarras and Sierra Navada, perfect for walking and skiing in the winter months.
The Cabo de Gata natural park with magnificent coves and landscapes.
The Tabernas desert with its film sets, Fistful of Dollars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Lawrence of Arabia were all filmed here.
Granada with its world famous Alhambra palace is only a 90minute or so drive away.
Almerimar area
Almerimar has the second largest marina in Spain, with a capacity of 1000 berths and a yacht club. Sailing and windsurfing are possible throughout the year, tuition for both sports is available at reasonable prices.
Almerimar is a golfer's paradise opposite the apartment is a 27 hole Gary Player designed course, the greens are large and fast, many holes affected by water obstacles making it an enjoyable course for players of all levels. A further five golf courses are within a 40 minutes drive from the apartment, including the famous Desert Springs course.
For families the resort has two blue flag beaches, uncrowded, long stretches of sand each side of the marina,with all the facilities you need.
For walkers, the natural park which is adjacent to the beaches gives the opportunity for seeing different wildlife and many species of birds.
Around the marina and in the village square you will find many varied and good bars and restaurants, whether your taste is Italian, Gourmet food, Chinese or authentic Spanish tapas you will find it here many overlooking the stunning marina.
In the winter months the apartment is only 90 minutes from the ski resort near Granada in the wonderful Sierra Navada the scenery is magnificent the roads are excellent. It is quite possible to have one day sking excursion or go snowboarding or take a husky ride. There are not many places in the world were you can ski in the morning and sunbathe in the afternoon.
This is undiscovered Spain at its best.

By far the best car renters the internet will give prices usually 30% less than booking direct with Spain, pay when you pick car up at airport. eg: 1 week small car about 100 euros family car about 135 euros depending on time of year.
Taxis are also available directly outside the airport arrivals.
For Almeria airport we can organise a transfer for you for around 45 euros per journey each way.
For a real adventure you can reach Almerimar from the ferry at Santander in the north in around 12 hours with breaks, or alternatively make the drive really relaxing and stop off at various points and get to know Spain.
It is also possible to catch the train from the north of the country and travel through Spain, stopping off at various locations if you wish and arrive in Almeria city which is 30 minutes from the apartment, otherwise a non stopr journey would take between 8 - 10 hours or so.

Further details indoors: This apartment has a high speciifcation interior, it is fully equipped with air condtioning and heating in the winter months.
The sitting room has two large leather sofas, with a 20 inch flat screen satellite TV and DVD player. The large coffee table has been stacked with books and games including a chess set for your enjoyment, the lighting has been chosen to suit all tastes.
The master double bedroom has a large fitted wardrobe with dresser.
The twin bedroom has a large fitted wardrobe with dresser, it also has the second terrace overlooking the the front garden. The beds can be put together.
The bathroom is large with bath, shower, bidet and wc.
The kitchen is fully fitted and as this apartment is a second home it has all the necessary equipment, including oven with halogen hob, microwave and washing machine.
Further details outdoors: The apartment has the advantage of having two terraces, one at the front and the other rear south facing which overlooks the swimming pool and garden and has direct access to both.
The rear south facing terrace is equpped with a large dining table and four chairs and bbq facitlites. This is an ideal place to have breakfast, lunch and dinner with the wonderful views of Almerimar and the sea.

All visitors will be met with keys by a professional management company. This is the owners second home and is furnished throughout to a second home standard, they will personally look after and help you with flights, car hire, information on the resort and the surrounding Almeria area.
There is secure parking accessed though automatic security gates.
