The Costa de Almeria region


The Costa de Almeria is renowned for it's year round sunshine amidst unspoilt coastline, rocky coves and quaint fishing villages. Hire a car and explore the fascinating regions of El Ejido, Adra, Roquetas and the City of Almeria itself with it's stunning Arab fortress, the Alcazaba.
The region is blessed by some stunning golf courses such as La Envia and Playa Serena whilst those looking for winter ski and snowboarding fun should head for the Sierra Nevada mountain range, only an hour transfer from Granada airport.
Wildlife can be explored in the nearby Cabo de Gata Natural Park and the Sierra Alhamilla Mountains.
Don't forget to enjoy the local cuisine, Almeria is Spain's prime provider of fruit and veg making the produce of the local restaurants fresh and authentic.
The Almerimar / Alta Entinas area
Almerimar, a quaint marina town and fishing port, 35 kms to the west of the City of Almeria, brings together a soothing mix of relaxation, natural beauty and harmony. Head to the port and fishing harbour for unrelenting views of the Med and enjoy some of the local fine cuisine.
Golf Almerimar is one of the oldest and most played courses in southern Spain. Everything from clubs to buggies can be hired!
Look out for next year's Festival of theatre in nearby El Ejido or for those requiring more of a 'kick', head for Creamfields also located this year in El Ejido, only a ten minute drive away.
