The Almerida village apartments where constructed in 2008 to a fantastically high standard. They benefit from a great location, high end finish with the additional benefits of landscaped garden and children’s play area. With a shared pool and the beach just down the road, it could not be in a better place.
Almerida is a small pretty seaside resort to the east of the bay of Souda. Situated about 24km or 15 miles west of Chania and is becoming more popular with package tour companies. The resort boasts an impressive crescent shaped bay, and a reasonable selection of tavernas, café bars and shops, which stretch through the village.
The wooded countryside behind Almirida is some of the most beautiful in Crete and a walker’s paradise, especially in April and May when it’s not too hot and the spring flowers are on show.

The Crete region
Crete has everything you that could possibly want from a holiday. It is the largest of the Greek islands and many people would say it is the most beautiful, with soaring mountains, many great walking trails including Europe's deepest gorge, ancient archaeological sites and Minoan palaces, quaint villages, sparkling clear blue seas, golden beaches, glorious wild flowers in the Spring, and a variety of delicious foods which are all made from healthy home grown produce.
Almerida area
The Almerida village apartments are only a 3 minute walk from the heart of the lovely village of Almerida and is built around a pretty crescent shaped sandy beach, with a small fishing harbour at the eastern end. The beach is very shallow and safe, which is good news if you have children or are not a strong swimmer.
Lining the beach are 4 excellent tavernas, 9 café/bars, 2 bakeries, a wonderful jewellery shop, 5 mini-markets, 3 gift shops an off-license and a water sports centre which rents out kayaks, windsurfers and catamarans.
A few minutes by car from the villa, there are a huge variety of archaeological sites and traditional villages with wonderful tavernas. There is also an interesting selection of small craft centres and museums, including glass blowing in Kokkino Horio, lace makers in Gavalohori, and silk makers in Kalamitsi. For those of you looking for even more activity, the historic town of Chania is only 30 minutes away by car.

An easy 30 minute drive from Chania Airport.
** Many other flight options from Heraklion Airport which is a 1 hour and 45 minute drive along the pretty coastal highway.
** Cheap flights available by many companies including EasyJet into Heraklion Airport.
** Other good flight options provided by Thomas Cook, Monarch, First Choice and Thompson (among others).
