The Algarve region
The Algarve enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine a year and has the best climate in Europe. There are activities here to suit every interest, golf, tennis, horse riding, deep sea fishing - to name but a few. For those culturally minded Faro has many historic sites and also concert halls etc. where interesting cultural events are held. The area is surrounded by 15km of superb sandy beach much of which has lifeguards in summer and lots of water sports activities.
Almancil area
Depending on the time of year there are interesting festivals, Carnival in Loule in the week before Lent, Easter celebrations and many concerts and outdoor activities in the summer many featuring famous Portuguese and international artists.
There is something here to suit every interest whether in summer or winter.
