Thank you for your comments. We are sorry to hear that a number of your party suffered chest infections during your stay. Chest infections are caused by a virus caught from person to person, the three in your party already with chronic conditions are most vulnerable, so not surprising that so many of you became infected. The house is very warm due to the thickness of the walls, double glazing and roof insulation, it is not damp. It is a large house with plenty of room to spread out. Room capacity is clearly stated in our advert, the main consideration being that 10 can dine together and sleep comfortably. The bedroom window handle had been broken previously by guests. It has now been tested and was found to lock and did not swing open. Your tape was actually stuck to the plastic latch that prevents the window from opening, by slotting over a metal bar in the window. In addition, it has a safety mechanism within it, restricting opening. This bedroom has a Queen Size bed, it would have been possible to move your child to another room. The TV/video in the twin room is for video only, we are sorry that the sign stating this had been removed. Our home is advertised for group's of10. The vast majority of our guests are extended families, or groups of friends, staying because the house is large enough for them all to be together.

"Disappointing and did not live up to our expectations"
The property was damp, leading to respiratory illnesses in 7 out of 10 members of the group. The dining room was very cramped because of heavy furniture. The lounge was simply too small. The kitche… More
Thank you for your feedback. As you were part of the same group as above, if I may, I will avoid duplicating comments on the same letting. The kitchen is a standard layout, on renewal we will attempt to improve the overall layout. Water pressure is governed by an Eco-Friendly combi boiler; this inhibits the pressure a little, but is part of a “green policy”. All the bedside lamps are plugged in and can be switched on. It is a well-known fact that all TV reception is affected by poor weather conditions, but not usually in summer. Your letter suggested you were struggling with the controls. Full details of how the TV works are provided. There is ample space for storing crockery in the kitchen; therefore the lounge sideboard is not needed for this purpose. Bath mats, cheese grater, serving bowls and spoons all now replaced. The two Velux windows now have coverings. A letter was received to which we promptly responded. For 11 years we have had many large families/groups, stay in our property. They have thoroughly enjoyed their stays. It is impossible for us to know groups preferences. The details of the property are clear in the advert and we will happily answer any questions prior to booking. All guests have different needs and ultimately only they can decide suitability. Even though your letter stated “Although we really enjoyed our holiday”, we could only conclude from the other comments, that the property was not entirely suitable for your particular family, and merely stated a fact.

"In need of updating"
Lovely location friendly village but the house is in need of updating we found the Walls was damp and we had small children with breathing problems the porch leacked a lot but all the bedding and towels wear all clean and fresh .
We are sorry that a couple of aspects caused you concern. An unprecedented amount of rain in the UK was problematic for many homeowners during 2012. In October we spent in excess of £8,000 re-rendering the gable end of the house, to address a couple of areas of damp. It then takes a little while to dry internally. This is now completed. New mastic has been applied to the porch window, and this is now completely dry. We are pleased that you enjoyed most aspects of your holiday, and hope you found it helpful being able to stay until lunchtime on the day of departure, so you did not have to rush. We thank you for leaving it tidy.
