Ashtamudi backwaters is located near Allepey, close to Kochi in the state of Kerala, which is the southernmost state in India.The distance from Kochi to Allepey is 53 Kms and it takes approximately 1 hour by road. Kochi has an international airport at Nedumbaserry which is located 38 kms away from the city and it takes approximately 53 minutes to reach Kochi city from the airport. So depending upon traffic conditions, it would take about 2 hours to reach the Alleppey house boat mooring point.
