The farm: ?Originally was concerned a farm and is now used as a residence. This type is a hay farm house identified by the distinct features on the outside ie house, barn and kapberg.?The farmhouse was built about 1680 with fishermen to farmers were forced to go after Prohibition in the Schermer.?About 25 years ago the farm completely demolished and authentically rebuilt.
The contractor - then the current owner - has received an award at the way the farm was then built and the farm is listed as a national monument.?The view from the house is unique with beautiful views of the Eilandspolder. Completely in the distance you can just see the tower of West beeemster, part of the municipality of Beemster.
The Beemster with its unique subdivision is an area that especially concerns the world now stands. Personally, we think the better since the polder pragmatic Eilandspolder still in original condition and no allotment was made. But this is also a unique breeding ground for waders.?Swallows - in many farms is that the swallows build their nests among the tiles. Here too is the case, you will notice that the onset of the evening many swallows flying around the house looking for food. The lower the swallows fly, the better the weather.
The fact that nests are under the tiles can be noticed in the upper bedroom of the kapberg.? ?The village and its surroundings:??The village Grootschermer is part of the municipality Schermer. Schermer consists of the villages Stompetorem, Three Houses, South Schermer, Schermerhorn and Grootschermer. Grootschermer consists of approximately 400 inhabitants. The village is in the area known for its cycling and skating trails. Fame is mainly due to the nature Eilandspolder??Supermarket -
The village has a small supermarket, a larger supermarket (Plus) with bakery, butcher, florist and pharmacy is available in ripening.?

In Enkhuizen zit een heerlijk restaurant Van Bleiswijk Grand Café-Restaurant met de lekkerste Club Sandwich van de wereld..
Steden – binnen een straal van 15 autominuten zijn de steden Hoorn (leuk langs de haven wandelen), Purmerend (dinsdagochtend markt) en Alkmaar (vrijdagochtend kaas markt in het centrum) bereikbaar.
