San Juan beach, 3 minutes walk from the apartment, is a 9 km long open beach with very high-quality fine sands located in an area with lots of services. All along the beachfront there are all kinds of restaurants and beach bars, some of which are actually on the beach itself.
Very well served by bus (number 21) and city train links to Alicante center and Alicante Golf Course. This same train takes you to Campello, Benidorm or Altea.
The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
Alicante is placed in the east coast of Spain. The Costa Blanca is well known for it´s fantastic climate, it´s beautiful white beaches and crystal clear waters. Enjoy miles of sandy coves and palm fringed beaches or the towns and villages that stretch along the coastline with a seemingly endless variety of colourful, markets, shops, restaurants, fishing harbours and marinas.
There is a bus and a city train in front of the apartment that takes you to near cities like BENIDORM, the funniest and most cosmopolitan city of Costa Blanca ( just 25 minutes away) where is placed the exciting Terra Mitica theme park, the superb water park Aqualandia and Mundomar (the sea life centre), or ALTEA, a bohemian white village (just 40 minutes drive or by train).
The Alicante / San Juan Beach area
The apartment is located in the area of San Juan Beach which is, without any doubt, one of the best beaches on the Costa Blanca.
San Juan beach is a long, open beach about 9 kilometres in length and with an average width of 85 meters. With kilometres of beach on the doorstep and a superb year round climate you may want to take some time out to walk, relax and spend some time lounging on the warm sand admiring the Mediterranean.
Boasting beachfront restaurants, bars, cafés and pubs, the San Juan Beach is also known for its selection of any water sport you can imagine!
There is plenty to see and do in the surrounding areas (abundance of night life, dinner shows, bars and restaurants, shopping malls, fishing, diving, water sports...).
The apartment is near and very well conected with:

* Santa Barbara´s Castle.
* The Roman village of Lucentum.

Alicante Golf: The legendary Spanish player Severiano Ballesteros designed the Alicante Golf city-course, which offers a good challenge for pros and amateurs alike. It is the only 18 hole par 72 course on the Iberian Peninsula which consists of six par 3, six par 4 and six par 5 holes.

Fly to Alicante airport of El Altet where you may take a local taxi (always available at the airport) to the apartment which is 20 minutes drive aprox. or you may take a city bus to the centre of Alicante. There, you may take another bus or the city train to Carrabiners station.

A spacious, well laid out and equipped, comfortable apartment in a quiet location. Even in January we were sometimes able to breakfast and lunch on the sheltered balcony and superb rooftop terrace. The beach is fantastic, but best left for later in the year.
There is a small supermarket one block south away (note the Mercado shown to the north on Google maps no longer exists) and a fresh fish shop in the same block.
With the excellent, reliable and cheap public transport (tram and bus) less than five minutes away a car was unnecessary. The tram system ran precisely to time and was very easy to find your way around on. There is plenty to do and see in Alicante and even trips to Benidorm and further north are simply achieved. Buy your tickets in the corner shop opposite.
In January there were several local restaurants open at lunch time but only one at night. Fortunately this was almost opposite with good, reasonably priced food. Masses of choice a short tram ride away in Alicante itself.
The assistance provided by Holiday Lettings (Mediterranean Lettings) during the booking process and the support provided whilst we were in the apartment was excellent.

We stayed a few days ago in this lovely apartment a short distance away from San Juan Beach and a tram stop. The location of this apartment was good - there is an ice cream bar 2 mins away, local tapas restaurants 3-7 mins away and a small marcado about 4 mins away. We took advantage of the apartments short walk to the beach and visited there each day.
The downside to staying in this location is that there isn't a huge choice of restaurants and with the last tram back being 11pm you may have to use taxis or not stay out to late - typically you should be eating dinner about 9-10pm in Spain so this could be a problem.
The tram stop was well used and we visited the close town of El Campello and did daily trips to Alicante.
The apartment itself has lots of space - an enormous balcolny to eat breakfast or have wine on, a fair sized lounge, 2 bedrooms (1 dbl, 1 singlem, 1 trundle bed), good sized kitchen and 2 bathrooms (1 bath with shower, 1 small shower room).
It is well furnished and good quality. I would recommend taking a lighter so you can light candles on the balcolny as it can get quite dark even with the light.
The only proper draw back of the apartment is the noise (rubbish collection at 2am and the aircon makes a loud bang bang sound). However everything else about the flat is fantastic!
Many thanks for your useful comments about your stay in this apartment. We are checking the air conditioner to solve that noise. We were unaware of the existence of it. The owner has improved the light of the balcony too.
About the other comments (tram schedules, waste collection) are not in our hands, we are sorry.

This place is perfect to get away from the city, but with all the accessibility possible if you need things in the city. Tram is only a minute walk and bus routes close too. The beach... more
