Home description

The property is spacious at 160 square metres plus and ideal for a relaxing holiday. Beaches are less than an hours drive or the Spanish interior can be explored. Also ideal for hiking or just exploring by car.

English and Spanish shopping is available in the village, there are also various styles of restaurants locally. Golf courses also fishing are all within easy reach. There is also use of a 5 seater car in the price certain conditions apply and there is no reduction if it is not included.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

Hondon Valley is to the west of the Sierras (mountains) Crevillente which run north to south about eighteen miles from the coast of the Costa Blanca. The traditional work of the people that live in the valley is agriculture, mainly grapes of all types growing on the acres of vines stretching in extended lines hanging from props.

There are also olive trees some of which are hundreds of years old and still producing strong yearly crops from which the delightful local oil is pressed. The Almond trees blossom in January into pink and white flowers followed by green foliage, the nuts being fully developed by the Autumn. There are nature walks around the village, small bars, restaurants, small shops; eighteen miles away the large town of Elche has modern shops and retail centres also large hypermarkets, in the centre of which is the old fort, cathedral and recreational park.

Golf
The development of Golf Courses is ongoing and there are now ten complete courses within an hours drive from the house, a new course is being built only 3 miles over the mountain from the front gate and should be open in 2008, five miles further on there is a new finished championship course at Algorfa with excellent facilities.

Average daytime temperature is around 30 degrees with Alicante having the warmest winter sunshine.


Alicante / Hondon de los Frailes area

In the summer months there are fiestas in the towns and villages with Elche having the largest firework display in Europe on 13th August. Besides the many beaches in the various seaside towns there are Museums and Churches. There are also free coach rides to Blanket Factories and the quaint village of Guadalest with it's ancient Monastery.

For night life there are shows of all types in theatres or restaurants nearer the coast with the Benidorm Palace an hours drive away for which we can organise transport .

Further details indoors:
Linen, bedding and towels are included; there are electric radiators and air conditioning in the bedrooms, a log fire in the lounge which warms the whole house. There is a marble staircase that goes up to the second floor.

The owners have their own shower room and toilet facilities in a seperrate building and are extra to the details described above.

The house is naturally cool in the summer months and there are two ceiling fans in the lounge. The house is not very old and therefore fresh and light.

Further details outdoors:
There is an 8 metre x 4 metre pool with sunbeds on a terrace. Children must be supervised at all times around the pool area, there is a toilet and a further shower facilities with hot water in the pool area also an outside shower; there is a sun terrace with seating beside the pool also a pergola for sitting in the shade with a fridge for cold drinks. Visitors can also sit on Frailes View and look at the breathtaking views of the valley with the village a mile away, or sit either in Ivy Corner, West Side or the Courtyard for complete relaxation. GOLF there are ten courses within an hours drive from the villa, also a golf society in the village who would be pleased to assist. We accept smoking outside but not in the house or covered areas.

Each bedroom has a balcony overlooking the Spanish countryside, and the front porch has views overlooking the front gardens. There are 9 separate secluded seating areas.


Further details

The owners live in a separate annex at the rear of the property with their own drive from the road although for convenience they may use the front drive; because of the many secluded seating areas there is no interference by them with guests, but are available if needed. The owners do not use the pool when there are visiting guests.

Whilst the property has disabled facilities with easy access, 2 ground floor bedrooms and shower facilities with hand rails and seat plus an en suite they would need to be accompanied as the kitchen is not suitable, all the doorways in the property are standard openings.


Conditions

We are sorry we cannot accept pets. Smoking is only allowed outside the house away from doors.
A refundable deposit is required.

Payment can be made in Euros or pounds sterling or any other currency providing the exchange charges are paid by the client. Cliente can also pay through PayPal.

We will meet clients at either Alicante or Murcia airports with the exception of late evening or night flights.

Included in the above is the use of a 5 seater car there is no reduction if the facility is not required, other conditions apply and there is a need to cover any excess in the invent of damage to the vehicle.

During the low season we accept bookings for shorter periods. A minimum of 3 nights at 11 euros per person per night with a minimum payment of 44 euros per night.

High season starts at Easter through to the second week in September.

We will accept long term lets at a reduced rate please email your requirements.
