About the home
Situated in the Sierra de Mijas Mountains, surrounded by pine forests, Casa Toca is a golfers haven as it partly overlooks the 18 and 9 hole courses designed by Seve Ballesteros.
However, it is not all about golf. The location is a perfect base to explore the coastal and inland region of Andalusia. Visit major attractions which are close by, such as the magnificent lakes at El Chorro, theme parks, cable car rides, Sea Life Centre, zoo, beaches or the sophisticated resorts of Puerto Banus and Marbella.
If your passion is horse riding, tennis, hiking, walking or almost any outdoor activity then you will be well catered for. There is plenty to do and see for all ages and interests. Or just chill and relax, the choice is yours.
A holiday at Casa Toca will give you more space, freedom and privacy.
The historic old town of Alhaurin el Grande is just 5 minutes drive away, and offers lively bars, an excellent choice of restaurants, shops and modern supermarkets. Or you can buy fresh fruit and veg direct from the field from local farmers.
This is modern living but with the real feel and taste of Spain. Last thought, if you are visiting in the autumn, try some hot chestnuts cooked in the streets of Alhaurin. Delicious!

The Costa del Sol region

The area benefits from the micro-climate of the Costa del Sol, so 300+ days of sunshine every year, coupled with the freshness of the mountain air makes this a great area to visit. Watch stunning sunsets from your balcony.
There is so much to see and do I have chosen just two of our favourite places to visit as an illustration. There is much more information to be found in the property and, of course, it's always exciting to make discoveries of your own.
Firstly, Mijas, 10 minutes away. Set 1300' above sea level, amazing panoramic views of the Costa del Sol. An Arab feel about the town famous for its white houses and Lady of the Rock Church carved into the hillside. Mijas caters for tourists with donkey and carriage rides, souvenir shops, and, of course, endless bars and restaurants. There are places and points of interest on almost every corner of its cobbled streets.
Another favourite are The Lakes, El Chorro. Take the road to Cartama and Alora from where El Chorro will be signposted. This is the scenic route and you will be rewarded by magnificent views. Before you get to the lakes stop by the Hotel La Garganta for mid-morning coffee. The hotel overlooks the 700m high Desfiladero de los Gaitanes Pass. The Cordoba railway runs through the gorge and cuts through the mountains and was used to film the train scenes in Von Ryan’s Express. Continue on to the Lakes which are set in a limestone gorge which passes the Guadalhorce River. This was dammed in 1921 forming three reservoirs flanked by pine forests. It's spectacular to visit at any time of the year and in summer you can swim, boat, barbeque, hike, bike, climb or just relax, sit in the Kings Chair, and marvel at the beauty. Take the dual carriageway home for speed.
Two very different days out, and just a taste of what's on offer. Culture, history, dance, music and, of course, fun are always available in this fascinating region of Spain. The Spanish are a lovely friendly people who will make you very welcome. They love festivals (May and September are popular festival months) and the weekly markets are always enjoyable. Look for advertisements in the many free papers and magazines. Please visit the UKs favourite holiday destination.
The Alhaurin Golf Resort area
Alhaurin el Grande forms part of the spectacular Guadalhorce Valley and is surrounded by orange, lemon, and olive groves which nestle in the valleys between the mountains.
This is real Spain, influenced by Arab, Greek, and Roman settlers whose history and some monuments can still be seen to this day.
This is a genuine working town with many modern trades backing up the extensive agriculture which Alhaurin is well known for. Fruit and vegetable farming is still a major part of the town’s economy.
The town offers a huge range of bars, clubs, shops and restaurants serving Spanish, Indian, Chinese and Italian cuisine, meat, fish and seafood, high-end dining or local tapas. The most economical way to eat in Spain is to choose ‘Menu del Dia’, Menu of the Day.

Guestbook for Casa Toca
Casa Toca is beautifully appointed. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found the accommodation perfect for us as it was easy to find, well located on the site, ie near the clubhouse and mini market, spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Our girls aged 9, 11 and 14 could enjoy some independence since the pool and shop were close to the house and I could let them have some space whilst still be able to watch over them. Our only regret is that we could only stay for one week not two!! Often on holiday you just want to get out of your apartment but we found ourselves basking in the sun on the top balcony, which is a real sun-trap and lingering over every meal on the lower terrace. It was also a real bonus to get English TV since it helped to persuade the little ones to come indoors for a break from the sun. It was a great base for exploring too and during our week we managed a trip to the coast to the crocodile farm, which was excellent, a visit to the Hippodrome at Mijas Costa to see the dressage, had an evening riding at La Luna Azul, took a road trip to Monda and enjoyed a Flamenco evening at the golf-club. So the location suited all our needs very well. I would not hesitate to recommend both you and your beautiful villa to others wishing to explore this lovely area of Spain. Arlene A O'Connell
Casa Toca is a duplex apartment set in stunning scenery of the Andalucian Hills. It is very tastefully decorated and all amenities are provided to a very high standard. It is close by good bars and nice restaurants, and a short drive away from a busy town. My family and I have stayed twice in Casa Toca and had an excellent relaxing holiday on both occasions. Sitting on the balcony over looking the hills is delightful in the shady morning and lovely as the sun sets over dinner in the evening. The children were impressed by the widescreen TV/DVD player. They particularly liked the close proximity to the Aqua Park near Torremolinos, whereas the adults preferred the yachts of Puerto Banus. All in all a great holiday. Dr Sandra McNeill Derry
We would just like to say how much we enjoyed our stay at Casa Toca.
The accommodation was very well equipped and extremely comfortable with a nice view over the well kept gardens and pool. We enjoyed the area and found it very peaceful with some great local restaurants.
We look forward to a return visit.

We took a hastily arranged break and managed to book a week at Casa Toca. It couldn't have been more perfect. The Alhaurin El Grande area is easy to find with easy access to the mountains, the beach and of course a first class golf course, with Casa Toca being the nearest villa to the clubhouse (very handy after a few refreshments at the 19th!). We were met by a friendly local key holder who had filled the fridge with a welcome pack and had plenty of recommendations for things to see and do - all of which were 100% accurate. Casa Toca itself is very roomy with 3 large doubles, 2 large bathrooms, every mod-con and has been tastefully decorated with the owners own artwork. The view from the two balconies at the rear is excellent and the fresh scent of the pine forest out front is ever present. Our own off-road parking space next to the property made life easier too. A real gem for golfers and non-golfers alike. We'll definitely be returning.

Myself and my partner stayed at Casa Toca in February. The weather was changeable but we found plenty to do no matter what the weather with the excellent suggestions in the book provided. A trip to the Lakes is a must!! The villa was beautifully furnished with everything we could possibly need, even golf clubs for a bit of practise on the putting green! The owners were extremely helpful and informative, answering any questions we had very promptly. We didn't manage to see and do everything we would have liked to and therefore hope to return later in the year. We highly recommend this villa.
