Alhaurin Golf is only 25 minutes drive from Malaga Airport, which is serviced by many of the low cost budget airlines from the UK. The beaches along the Costa del Sol from Malaga to Estepona are within 20-40 minutes by road, which means that 9 out of the 10 top beaches, (as stated by the AA) are within your reach. A day's trip to the Sierra Nevada ski resort is only a 2 hour drive, AA quoted 70km from the coast (season December-April). Activities such as horse riding, quad biking, waterskiing, jet skiing, windsurfing and sailing, shooting and fishing are all catered for locally. Local markets are held in most of the villages each week. The coastal regions are the 'hot spot' of clubbing in Europe.

To visit the Costa del Sol is to discover beautiful landscapes, fine gastronomy and the hospitality of its people, but also its extensive cultural heritage, its dazzling beaches and its biodiversity.
Alhaurin el Grande is a town located in the province of Málaga, 30 Kms. from the capital city, and at 239 meters above the sea level. It is one of the most picturesque villages in the Guadalhorce river valley and it is situated between the river Fahala and the stream of Blas González.

Alhaurin Golf & Country Club Alhaurin is a unique club, in that it has three golf courses -- an 18 hole par 72 course designed by Seve Ballesteros, a nine hole par 3 course bordering a beautiful lake, and an 18 hole junior course (adults may play only when accompanied by a child.) The par 72 course is of international quality with challenging holes lush green fairways and greens set amongst pine woods. Situated between Mijas and Coín in the Sierra de Mijas, this course has majestic views of mountains to the north and Africa and the Mediterranean to the south.Alhaurin el Grande is a good place to try spanish tapas and to attend many cultural activities like jazz, flamenco festivals and the feria in June, processions in Semana Santa (Easter), and sport activities like tennis, golf in three courses or trekking in Sierra de Mijas and Cártama.
Worth a visit is the small church and the ancient moorish tower in Torrealqueria with its famous gardens. Also the moorish mill in Alhaurin el Grande, (where Gerald Brenand lived and died), and the impossible rock shapes in El Torcal.
