Home description

A fully air conditioned 2 bedroom apartment, both with twin beds, bathroom, kitchen, utility room and terrace which looks out over vast orange groves. The apartment was new in September 2006 and is located close to La Finca Golf Club in the village of Algorfa. It comes with a communal swimming pool, secure underground parking and is within easy strolling distance of the village square. There are a number of pleasant local bars and restaurants, a small Supermarket in located within 400 metres. The village also contains a bakery, Bank, internet cafe and many other shops. There is a lift to all floors and is accessible for those with a pram or wheelchair.

There are 5 quality Golf Courses within easy reach of the apartment, with others slightly further away. For those who want sightseeing, the historic town of Murcia is just 35 minutes drive. Within easy reach is Elche/Elx famous for its Palm trees and Zoo, Torrevieja is only 15Km and has a water park and all the fun of this well known resort. The blue flag beach at Guardamar is just 13 km away.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

The area boasts 320 days of sunshine per year and is alleged to be one of the most healthy places on the earth to live.

The local history is all around you, with some places going back hundreds of years, the local church in Algorfa has a very interesting history and well worth a visit, though at the beginning of Septemebr 2006 it did have some scaffold around it whist remedial work was completed.

There are numerous places of interest, with Elche/Elx worth a day trip with the Zoo and the vast number of Palm trees. There are two local water parks, the largest being in Torrevieja. The ancient City of Murcia is also worth a visit with many old buildings and churches.


Algorfa / La Fontana Residential area

Algorfa, well what can you say, it is a quiet Spanish village with the locals sitting outside their homes in the evening, just watching the world go by, they are very friendly.

The village square is the centre of the village life, it is the place where the market is held at the weekend, there are two bars on the square and in one corner is the meeting place for the local domino players. There are numerous bars and eating places within the village.

Major traffic in the village is limited to the rush hour when you may get 5 cars waiting at the traffic lights, the rest of the time the are just a few cars moving around. Algorfa is a place for relaxation and enjoying the nice weather, good food and meeting the local people. The population is around 1000.

Fontana apartments are located on the outskirts of the village towards the Superb La Finca Golf Course, adjacent to the community Sports facility. Over the summer, they do have some concerts and festivals which centre around the sports facility, dates and times are published via the Tourist Office.

Locally, there are many walks and a fabulous historic church. A water park is just 10 minutes drive and another water park in Torrevieja. A Zoo is in Elche and many fantastic Blue flag beaches, all within easy reach. If you fancy an evening of excitement, then there is a Casino in Torrevieja.

Golf is a major business in this area and with La Finca on the doorstep and 5 other quality courses within 15 minutes drive, then for golfers, it is a must.


How to get there

You can either fly to Alicante or Murcia and cheap flights are available to both with Easyjet, RyanAir or Monarch. Air Scotland, Air Berlin, BA and others.

Car hire is available at the airport, many of which can be booked on line. Car hire is available in the village.

If you do not drive, there are a number of companies who will collect you from the airport and transport you to the apartment and also run you to and from the beaches and towns.

The apartment is modern but tastefully decorated to compliment the light surroundings of the apartments exterior. A DVD player is available with a few films of various types. The television is NOW connected to Satalite channels. There is a CD player with Radio and cassestte player. A Play Station One is there with a good selection of games. A varying range of books are available, if you have time to read. If you do not finish the book you are reading, dont be dissappointed that you can not finish it, do please take it home with you, but we would ask you to leave another one in its place.

Bedding and towels are provided, but not beach towels.

Further details outdoors:
The apartment is contained in a small complex and has a Moorish influence in the design. It is finished in bright yellow, which helps reflect the sunshine.

There is a local sports facility adjacent to the complex for those who would like to play football, tennis or volleyball. It also contains another swimming pool which we understand is open from June to September. There is also a children's play area with seating.


Further details

Rental period is flexible from 3 nights. Book early and get a discount, or re-book within 3 months and get a larger discount.

Payment is due 10 weeks prior to departure.

A cleaning charge of 45 euro is made for the laundrey and end of stay clean, this is payable on arrival in cash to the key holder/greeter.

Arrival will not be before 1600hrs and departure must be by 1030hrs on the final morning an extention may be available subject to lettings, please ask, a small charge maybe levied.


Conditions

Sorry but no pets or smoking allowed.

Any booking will not be finalised until the 50% deposit and the booking form has been completed and returned.

An end of visit clean and laundry service is provided at a cost of 45 Euro, which is paid to our key holder in cash on arrival.

A welcome pack is available if required, the content can be selected in advance and paid for on arrival to Linda.

A £100.00 refundable breakages deposit is required with the final payment.

Final payment is required 10 weeks prior to start of holiday or in full at time of booking is booked with 10 weeks of departure.

Cancellations of the apartment will be considered with 50% refund within 10 weeks, 30% refund with 6 weeks, 10% within 4 weeks and no refund less than 2 weeks of the start of the holiday.
