The Andalucia region
Andalusia, the largest region in Spain famous for its hours of sunshine. Inland Andalusia with its rolling hills covered with olive trees, sheep, goats and donkeys is unspoilt by excessive tourism and its white towns and villages (Los Pueblos Blancos) still show a welcome to visitors.
Algodonales is a rural village with agriculture as its main activity. Four months of guaranteed sun and mild winters make for an ideal relaxing holiday. Walking, cycling, horse riding and canoeing are all available locally and it's the main centre in Spain for paragliding and hang gliding during the cooler months. Sevilla and Jerez with their Moorish architecture and world famous festivals are both one hours drive.Don't miss the guided "Sherry Tour" of Jerez. Cadiz (my favourite) with its ancient cathedral, old town charm and marvelous uncrowded beaches is little over an hour away. After your day out enjoy a moonlight swim or an evening sherry on the terrace.
