Home description
Casa Eucalipti is a lovely Sardinian villa set in the peaceful rural heartlands of the north east and yet only a few miles from the centre of bustling Alghero and the glorious beaches beyond. It is surrounded by the sprawl of vineyards and olive groves that dominate the area and its gardens and cultivated land are lovingly cared for by the owners.
The interior of the villa, which is all on one level and has an open-plan design, is cool and intimate with well-proportioned rooms and a very well equipped kitchen and dining area. The front door opens onto the pool and terrace area where you will probably be spending most of your time - whether it’s lounging alongside the ample pool or indulging in long lunches or sunlit evening meals. There is also plenty for the children to do around the pool with variety of ball games available.
The small garden at Casa Eucalipti is a treat with its prickly pear cactuses and fruiting medlar trees and from here you can access a number of paths into the surrounding countryside for an evening stroll before dinner.

The Sardinia region
With over 1800km of coastline and a situation equidistant between Italy and Tunisia, Sardinia is in the heart of the Mediterranean and has flavours to match - it is an island that boasts a fiercely independent character whilst remaining indisputably Italian.
The second largest island in the Mediterranean after Sicily and just 11km from Corsica, the beautiful island of Sardinia has many faces. From sleek yachts and beaches of the Costa Smeralda, to the beauty of the mountainous interior, it is a popular destination for those who love watersports and beach life as well as those looking to explore the more uncommercialised parts of the island.
Sardinia's picture-book coastline, with its white sandy beaches and crystal clear emerald water, is some of the best the Mediterranean has to offer. This stunning island offers a long summer from May to October with high temperatures reaching up to 38 degrees in July and August.
Sardinia is known for its history with Neolithic sites and traces of many invaders that mark the island's turbulent past. Over the years, Sardinia's shores have seen the arrival of the Phoenicians, Romans, Genoans battling for supremacy with Pisans and Arabs, the Spanish, and finally the House of Savoy. The different cultures have all contributed to the art, architecture and cultural life if Sardinia and evidence is scattered throughout the island.
Whether you wish to sample the exquisite beaches, experience the Sardinian way of life or explore the island further afield, Sardinia has something for everyone.
Alghero area
Sardinia's northwest coast shelters the most attractive seaside resorts on the island, interspersed with some really spectacular coastline - from dramatic rugged cliffs to dazzling sandy beaches. Alghero is a popular resort town in this area, with a distinct Catalan character, quaint narrow streets and a charming harbour-front. The coastline around Alghero is truly delightful - small beaches and seaside resorts nestle against sand dunes shaded by thick pine forests, whilst stretches of rocky and macchia covered cliffs contrast magnificently with the green rolling countryside inland. There is a choice of fine beaches northwards of the town including the well known Bombarde beach, a strip of pure white sand bordered by crystal clear sea, and Lazzaretto beach with superb views across to Capa Caccia.
If you prefer to keep active there are a range of activities including sailing, diving and windsurfing available in the area.
Best of Alghero & the North West Vineyard of Sella and Mosca - The vineyard of Sella and Mosca makes an interesting afternoon's visit. Guided tours are available daily followed by wine tasting Alghero's Bastion - Get away from the hustle and bustle of lively Alghero, stroll along the fortified walls along the seafront and enjoy the sun setting over Capo Caccia. Grotte di Nettuno - Take a boat trip to the Grotte di Nettuno, outstanding sea caves below a sheer cliff face. Accessible by boat, trips depart regularly from Alghero's port and the return journey takes approximately two and a half hours. Bosa - Travel south down the coast road to Bosa, where some interesting rock formations are to be seen on the way. Bosa is a picturesque tangle of narrow streets and squares below the ruins of a medieval castle. Archaeological sites - Visit some of the important archaeological sites, both near Alghero and further inland, including the Nuraghe di Palmavera and the impressive prehistoric necropolis of Anghelu Ruiu
