Ideal location in a quiet residential area, with parking, the sea is 10 minutes walk away (rocky coast and 2 small beaches in town) while beaches (the first famous beach is at 2 kilometres) can be reached by bus (near the apartament there is the bus stop ) or car.
The apartment is 700 metres from Lungomare Valencia e 900 metres from the old town, near supermarkets, restaurants, shops and pub. Air conditioned, completely furnished , with everything you need (T.V., hi-fi system, videoplayer, electric heating, kitchen utensils, English Coffe maker, toaster, juicer, crepe maker, meat grill, gas cooker, refridgerator, freezer, dish washer, washing machine, iron, ironing board, phon hair, equipment for beach: towels, umbrella, cooler box).Very bright and welcoming home, offers two bedrooms, the small one with 2 single beds and the big one with a queen bed and a “folding bed” that can be used in the same room because it is quite large; for baby there is also a cot. In living room you’ll find a corner relax with 2 sofà (one of this is a sofa bed) and tv, with dvd player and stereo radio; a dining area with a table with 5 chairs ; the kitchen is visible because on a living room there is a semi-open wall with a table and 4 stools two of which are in the kitchen (for quick lunch) :-) In the bathroom there is a bathtub with a shower facility;
From the large terrace you have a nice view on a beautiful garden, and thank to the sun shades you can eat outdoor for you breakfast or in the evening for a a bbq for your grilled fish or meat.

Northwest Sardinia is a land of wild, dense green maquis interspersed with wind blown rocks and some of the finest beaches on the island. The region of Alghero has remained largely unspoilt and is recognised for its charming seaside resorts, archaeological sites and above all, its spectacular coastline. Alghero itself boasts an atmospheric old town which has retained its Catalan favours and tends to be rather crowded in the height of the summer season. Near Alghero (50Km.) there is Stintino with restaurants and one of the most stunning beaches nearby, La Pelosa. La Pelosa beach is one of Sardinia's famous swimming spots, lapped by shallow, turquoise sea of crystalline clarity. Some say it is one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe! Le Prigionette Nature Reserve at Porto Conte is a great spot for hiking and cycling through the mountains and valleys.And near Alghero CapGrotte di Nettuno is one of Sardinia's most visited tourist attractions: 60 million year old caves discovered by fishermen in the 18th century.
Alghero is even for a weekend! Visitors to the city find that the area around Alghero gives a lot of opportunities for day trips: the famous cave complex of Grotte di Nettuno (Neptune's Grotto), located 15km to the west on the peninsular of Capo Caccia, is one of the most spectacular cave complexes in Italy and a very popular tour destination; . To the north and south of Alghero the resorts of Bosa and Stintino are worthy of investigation. Slightly inland, Bosa boasts a compact centre of narrow streets and a relaxed atmosphere whilst its extension at Bosa Marina, 3 km away, provides access to the beach. The smaller Stintino on the northwestern tip of the Island is renowned for the stunning coastline at La Pelosa with its superb beaches and calm turquoise waters.
The area around Alghero also contains several important archaeological sites. Nuraghe di Palmavera is the best preserved nuraghic complex in the region and the older Anghelu Ruju, near Alghero airport (Fertilia), is a necropolis consisting of around forty burial chambers.
Located on the northwest coast of Sardinia, Alghero has become a major holiday destination in recent years and yet still retains its distinctive Catalan character. This derives from the influence of Pedro IV of Aragon who seized control of the town in the mid-fourteenth century and embarked on an intense period of colonization from Spain.
In winter the climate is very warm so the walk on the old walls of the old city with some very nice cafes and restaurants (ranges from young to older generations) and the sunset facing the neptun grotto is mindblowing!
the most famous beaches that you have to see are Le Bombarde It's really a nice sand beach and at all the sea wather is just cristal-clear! it's the beach for young people (20 - 30 years old) in the afternoon after nights live .there are Lazzareto, La Speranza , Maria Pia, and Capo Caccia with the "!Grotte di Nettuno" : old caves discovered by fishermen in the 18th century. and you can visit by boat or if you wish by 700 stairs!

"Excellent apartment to relax during stay"
Great apartment and worked well for us with two children aged two and three. All rooms on the same level and plenty of space to relax. Supermarket about 5 minutes walk away, with centre of town (oldtown) about 15 minutes away. Balcony was nice (obviously needed to supervise young children). Apartment clean and airy, with blackout shutters aiding everyones sleep time.
Alghero lovely town ~ similiar to Dubrovnik- food excellent and good value. Supermarkets were exceptionally cheap and provided excellent food and drink. Late April a nice time to visit, not too warm but good enough for beach. There was a small cove nearby. overall enjoyed the stay and would return

This appartment is located in a calm neighbourhood. Parking is easy right outside the building. The appartment easily accommodates four people and is well equipped. Helpful owner made the communication easy.

"Cosy apartment in a quiet residential area, ideal for my toddler!"
I stayed at Fulvia's apartment last March with my toddler and mother for a week.
Fulvia was extremely nice and charming throughout the booking process and very helpful with all my questions and queries.
Fulvia's mother greeted us upon arrival and it was nice to know that she was 1 door away if we neeeded anything.
We could not work out how to use the TV so she called one of her sons to help us immediately.
The apartment is self-contained and comfortable, it was immaculately cleaned when we arrived!
Although not so close to the town centre shops sea front and parks are within a short walking distance and we have opted not to hire a car. Despite being March the weather was fantastic and we walked everywhere.
i would definetly reccommend this apartment i think it's very good money for value and Fulvia is truly a nice and honest person.

"Not up to standard"
This apartment was generally clean and tidy, in a well kept apartment block in a quiet residential area (occasionally noisy with traffic late at night) BUT was not up to the standard we expected, despite a warm welcome from the agent.
In particular the bathroom was unhygienic - the position of the shower over the bath meant it sprayed water into the bottom recess of a nearby opening window (which opened inwards) which was full of black slimy "gunge" and water that had been there for ages and never cleaned in months, it was horrible to look at. The grout and sealant between bath tiles and bath were similarly black, mouldy and unpleasant as was the gap between the wash basin and wall. The bathroom required complete renovation.
The water pressure in the taps and shower was just a trickle so it was impossible to have a basic shower, it just dribbled out, and it would have taken hours to fill the bath. The cold water tap on the basin turned round and round and was impossible to shut off, so we could never use it. Similarly we could never fill the wash hand basin with water as it took too long!
The same was true for the kitchen, so washing up was virtually impossible as the water just trickled out even when the taps were opened fully. It was very frustrating and annoying when trying to wash even the smallest of items, so we had no choice but to use the dishwasher more times than should have been necessary.
There was a really horrible drains/sewer smell coming from the bathroom, which never disappeared over the whole week, so going in there was not pleasant at all. Similarly there was the same sort of smell on the balcony which also drifted in through the second window of the second bedroom, meaning that this had to be kept closed all the time, making the room very hot in the warm weather. We could never sit on the balcony because of the smell, which only disappeared when it was windy (two days only!).
The beds in the second bedroom were not comfortable at all and very poor, with something underneath one of them broken, so it sagged even more than the other one. Air conditioning was mentioned, and this was indeed provided in the living room, but the bedrooms were particularly hot and airless at night, with no air con or ceiling fans which really are necessary even in September.
The kitchen equipment was generally ok, but 2 espresso pots were full of mould and dirty, having been left wet and closed up, and we had to buy a new one ourselves. We had to ask how to light the oven which required lighting with a wooden "taper" stick, which I was not keen on doing, as the gas cooker had no automatic oven ignition. It was LPG which was not mentioned in the description either. The cooker knob kept falling off which was annoying and it was impossible to tell at what temperature the oven was set at. The plinth in the kitchen was loose, and the wallpaper frieze had been re-fixed to the wall with masking tape. The electrics in the kitchen were particularly "dodgy" and we tried not to use them too much, as every time we pulled the plug out of an appliance it pulled the loose socket out the wall.
One good thing was that beach towels, sun umbrella, and mats were provided, and these were indeed useful.
The owner states it is little more than a 10 minute walk to the old town, it is certainly much more than that, definitely a good 20 minutes quite fast walk, or even 30 if walking more slowly on the most direct road straight in. It is about 5 minutes to the nearest supermarket which is quite well stocked.
Overall very disappointing when this is our first visit to Sardinia, and reading the description of the apartment on the owner's website makes it sound a lot more attractive. It is ready for renovation, particularly the bathroom, kitchen and second bedroom.
I would have brought this to the owner's attention at the time, but not speaking Italian made communication very difficult, so I have emailed the owner on return from holiday. I am afraid I would not be happy to recommend it as it is at the moment. It is more a case of what was NOT said in the description that caused the problems!
I am very sorry for all the hardships encountered;I wish my customers are completely satisfied with their stay and this is the first time I receive a review so bad, thank you for advised me, I'm already making good what has been by me, but as written to clients, some of the hardships were caused by temporary problems of the city (water and odors);for all problems I offered to apologize for next year a free week, so they can have great memories of my home and Sardinia
