About the home

Just off Via Kennedy, il Nido is situated within a short walk from Alghero’s bustling historic centre, providing convenient access to shops, restaurants, cafes and general amenities.

Sunbathing, swimming and some interesting snorkeling is possible within close walking proximity, on the rocky seafront opposite to the Carlos V hotel.

The apartment offers two spacious airy double bedrooms, styled in soft palette Sardinian furniture, wrought iron beds, crisp linen sheets, authentic local textiles, carpets and curtains. A spacious sun flooded living room, giving access to the balcony, is equipped with the latest technology, flat LCD TV, HI-FI and contemporary furnitures. Fully equipped kitchen-diner giving over the rear balcony, and a bright bathroom with shower.

Unlike historic centre residences, off street parking is available for those hiring a car, with convenience access in and out of Alghero.

The apartment is located on the first floor.

Route directions will be provided from the airport to the apartment and our house manager will meet you at the apartment to give you the keys and all the necessary instructions.

We can also arrange for you to be met at the Airport and escorted to the apartment.

You will find plenty of information upon arrival at the apartment about the local area and if that is not enough our English house manager will be more than happy to answer your queries.

Conditions

A 25% deposit is required to secure a booking and the balance must be settled 6 weeks prior to departure.

Cancellation charges apply.

A security deposit for the apartment of £ 200 is required and it will be collected by our house manager upon arrival and refunded prior to your departure.

The Sardinia region

The Mediterranean's second largest island is 9.300 square miles of surprises, just 120 miles west of the Italian mainland. Named "Sandalyon" after its footprint-like shape, you are never too far from the sea in Sardinia, and it has left its mark on the people and the landscape.

Almost 2000 kms of coastline is contoured by rugged cliffs, tiny coves, and picturesque harbours.

The Alghero area

Located in the northwest of Sardinia, Alghero, in recent years, has become a major holiday destination, yet it still retains its charming small town feel, authentic Sardinian hospitality, and a distinctive Catalan character; which derives from the influence of Pedro IV of Aragon who seized control of the city in the mid-fourteen century during an intense period of colonization from Spain. Yet, today Alghero is renowned for being one of the most Italian holiday towns in Sardinia.

The pedestranised old town centre (10 walking minutes from Il Nido), on the sea front consists of a labyrinthic network of cobbled narrow lanes, brimful of artisan shops, fashionable boutiques, bustling open air cafes and atmospheric restaurants, perfect for ‘al fresco’ wining & dining, and ideal for seafood lovers.

Due to its balanced Mediterranean climate (Feb 14c, May 22c, Aug 27c, Nov 17c), Alghero is an ideal year round holiday destination. Visitors to this charming town can enjoy sunbathing and swimming alongside Lungomare Valencia or over the sandy beach of the Lido. The other enjoyable hobby is to admire the truly idyllic sunsets which enhance the surrounding scenic coastline. In addition Alghero is an ideal base for day trips in the immediate vicinity to place such as; the Neptune’s Grotto, Stintino, Bosa, Argentiera, the Anghelu Ruju necropolis and Nuraghe di Palmavera (More local information provided on our guest resort book available in the apartment)

Alghero is served by Ryanair from London Stansted, Liverpool, East Midlands, Dublin, Barcelona, Madrid, Bremen, Dusseldorf, and Stockholm.

There are also flights from Alghero to Milan and Pisa served by Ryanair and Airone has routes from Alghero to Rome and Milan.

“Bright and spacious” Enjoyed a four night stay in this lovely apartment. We were accompanied by our young adult daughter and a friend and there was lots of room for us all. About a ten minute walk took us to the lovely old town of Alghero. We loved the narrow streets and lovely walks, mostly flat. The apartment was clean and fully equipped with all conveniences. Sonia was excellent to deal with. Would recommend this aparment....no problem with noise as its in a residential area.

My partner and I have just returned from Alghero

Il Nido apartments were truly stunning, spacious and in a fantastic position - within walking distance to all amenities.

We felt like we were at home and really was sad to leave the apartment and the Sardinian sunshine!

What a beautiful, elegant and spacious flat! Situated in a really nice area, close to the sea front and the lively Paizza Sulis. The flat has all you need, clearly a lot of thought has gone into everything.
