Apartment is located just one minute walk from the beach, fifteen from the centre of the town. Quiet and peaceful. Easy to get for people who don't need the car. Apartment is completed of full optional for your relax holidays. This flat is an ideal solution for family with infant or with little child.
Advantages: position near the beach and position near the supermarkets. The centre is found to 600 meters of walk.
Accepts maximum 4 people with 1 Infant.

The Sardinia region

The ancient city of Alghero is shielded by a cape that encloses the beach and the port. The imposing bastions, towers which face the sea, and the Land Gate and Saint Joan's gate which face the city testify the ancient and alternate vicissitudes inflicted upon this Catalan city from both sea and land. The colourful roads of the city's boulevards are paved with granite cobbles and slabs. Decorative and ancient palaces rub shoulders with numerous handicraft stores, restaurants and bars which offer exquisite specialties and fantastic local wines.

Alghero is a city whose strongly Catalan character shows through. This legacy is shown in everything from the local language to the glorious architecture and the splendid natural landscape which surrounds the entire area. Beyond the port to the north there are beautiful beaches of San Giovanni and Maria Pia .

A strenuous walk will bring visitors to the beaches from the city centre In the are there are many interesting examples of archaeology linked to Sardinia's rich past. Amongst the most important are the Necropolis of Anghelu Ruiu, an ancient funerary complex and the Nuraghe Palmavera, a rare surviving example of a Nuraghic fortress.
In the historical centre don't miss the church of San Francisco built in the 14th century. On the outskirts of the city you will find located the beautiful marine park of Porto Conte which is reachable by bicycle. Beyond the stunning cape of Capo Caccia, one can easily reach the Coves of Neptune in car or by bicycle, and also by Bus or ferry service from the port. The stunning natural environment inside of the coves is well worth the trip.

The Climate is mild all the year thanks to the proximity of the sea. The warmer months are June and July, coldest January and February. The temperature never drops below approximately 4/5° . This is a particularly appealing characteristic for visitors from Northern Europe, although the wind can be irksome in the cold months.

The Alghero / Lido area

January - BOGAMARI Festival: festival dedicated to the cult of sea, and fishing during the winter period. Many restaurants offer menus including famous sea urchins, and visitors can purchase urchins at a reasonable cost.
March - SETTIMANA SANTA: The Holy week of Passover is very characteristic of the city's Catalan origins. Many inhabitants and tourists join in.
April - NOSTRA SIGNORA DI VALVERDE: Rustic festival and religious procession. The celebrations begin the first Sunday after Passover and are characterised by solemn religious rituals. The pilgrims continue through the month of May.
May - CAVALCATA SARDA - SASSARI: Equestrian parade of the city of Sassari through the city centre streets in traditional costume. Every village parades in typical costume and offers their typical produce of the. A true day of festivity that continues for the whole week through the streets and the public squares of the centre.
14 August - FARADDA - SASSARI- Equestrian parade of the candlesticks: the most important and eagerly-anticipated race for the inhabitants of Sassari. They parade carrying their oldest wax effigies and dancing through the streets of the centre to the beat of a drum, until arriving after hours of parades at the church of Santa Maria in order to give thanks for having escaped the plague.

“Apartment suited us perfectly!” We're a retired couple who spent a very pleasant week in Alghero in October 2011. This apartment suited us perfectly! We wanted somewhere quiet, comfortable and reasonably priced, easy to get to by public transport. Situated near to an official stop for the Airport bus (close to junction of Via Don Minzoni and Via Ajuni). Two big supermarkets located at that junction, another discount supermarket nearby, bakery and "rotisserie" on Via dei Ortigli at back of apartment block. 10 mins walk from Station for trains to Sassari. 3 mins walk to Promenade, 20 mins walk to Old Town. Apartment is on 4th floor of a 5-story building, with lift. 2 apartments on each floor. Balcony runs along full width of apartment, with doors from living area and main bedroom. Bright, clean, airy, quiet, plenty of hot water. Anything we needed was there. Claudio was very helpful and prompt in replying to emails and text-messages. He wasn't able to meet us himself when we arrived, but Katarina was waiting for us at the apartment even though we arrived earlier than planned - our flight was early, so we got an earlier bus. Overall, our experience in dealing with Claudio and staying in the apartment was very positive.

“Central, spacious, clean - would stay here again” Appartment centrally located, around the corner from a choice of 3 large supermarkets, pharmacy, shops etc. Spacious balcony (larger than the photos suggested), & a good orientation facing onto a quiet one way street. 4 minute walk to nearest beach, nice 15 minute stroll along beach front to old town. Would recommend hiring a car to explore some of the other beaches along the coast - well worth it. Great family holiday!

“Good location” Location of the apartment is very convinient - 5 minutes to the Alghero beach, 20 minutes to the old Alghero town. Everything by foot. There are 3 supermarkets in 3 minutes and 1 pretty good pizzeria. Apartment got 3 air-cond (one in every room), sat TV, but only with italian channels and a lot of owners stuff. Large balcony is a good opportunity to spend your evening looking at the sunset
