Villa | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 7
Jebel Musa is a lovely villa situated within the Strait of Gibraltar National Park. This national park is located between Algeciras and Tarifa, very close to Gibraltar and Sotogrande. The city of Algeciras and all this area are well-served by motorways from Malaga, Sevilla, Cadiz and Jerez.
The villa is back for lettings after a period of time.
On the main floor of this three-storey house there is a large living area connected to a huge kitchen with big windows providing breathtaking seaviews of the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. Downstairs there is a corridor that leads to three spacious bedrooms and a family bathroom. The Master bedroom is en suite. All of them have beautiful seaviews. There is also a laundry room on this level. Upstairs there is a lovely attic with a sofa bed and remarkable stunning seaviews. There is also a large terrace on the first floor. The house also comprises of two gardens: one is located by the main gate and the other one by the pool.
Within walking distance there are a lot of trails along the coast for those who like hiking or mountain biking. Kayaking is also a popular activity in the area. There are worldwide famous golf courses nearby since Sotogrande and San Roque are only 35 minutes away from the property. Whalewatching is a must in this area since spring and summer are the best time of the year to spot dolphins, long-finned pilot whales or even killer-whales due to good weather conditions. Birdwatching in the strait is worldwide known; sometimes you'll be able to see big vultures flying over your head from the house. Diving is fantastic in the strait: plenty of diving sites including shipwrecks. ( there is one right in front of the house)
This area is also full of interesting cultural spots like Gibraltar, Cadiz, Tarifa, Bolonia ( Roman ruins), Jerez and also Seville. For those who love exploring other cultures, Morocco is just a short ferry ride away.
If you like sunbathing on the beach there is a beautiful blue flag sandy beach on the road that takes you to the house, 4 minutes by car, with trendy restaurants and bars where you can enjoy fantastic paellas, "pescaito frito" and local seafood. Nevertheless, if you are looking for long, unspoiled white sandy beaches you should go further south to Tarifa and Bolonia ( 30 minutes ) where you can also practise kite and windsurf.
A stone's throw away from the house there are some pebbly coves of which one (calarena) is quite popular with yatchs and boats in summer due to its crystal clear waters.
The frontside of the indoor swimming pool is closed by glass curtains that can be completely opened if you want to sunbathe by the pool. The pool gives onto a garden where you can place your sunbeds and enjoy the sun, the seaviews and the spectacular coast of Morocco.
The house and the area are perfect for families, groups, or golfers alike, whether you're looking for a relaxing break in the sun, an active holiday, or the opportunity to discover the unspoilt Spain of the Costa de la Luz.

About this location
The Andalucia region
The Costa de la Luz (English: Coast of Light) is a section of the Andalusian coast in Spain facing the Atlantic; it extends from Algeciras in the south, along the coasts of the Province of Cádiz and the Province of Huelva, to the mouth of the Guadiana River.
A popular destination for vacationing Spaniards, in recent years the Costa de la Luz has become more popular with foreign visitors, especially British, French and Germans.
Aside from the beaches and the sunshine, there are ample opportunities and facilities for leisure activities, like fine dining, golf, kitesurfing, boating, and other water sports. The Costa de la Luz is especially noted for the beauty of its protected natural reserves and a number of first-rate natural attractions.
Among them are: the Doñana National Park, where endangered species, such as the Spanish Imperial Eagle, also known as Adalbert's Eagle (Aquila adalberti), and the Iberian Lynx (Felis pardina), can occasionally be sighted; the picturesque Bay of Cádiz; the steeply-pitched shorelines of the southern section of the Andalusian coastline; the salt marshes of Barbate and the seaside cliffs at La Breña (both within the La Breña y Marismas del Barbate Natural Park); and the sprawling wetlands at the mouths of the rivers Tinto and Odiel, where there is a profusion of water fowl and, in season, other migratory birds, including storks and flamingos.
Beautiful windy Tarifa is only 30 minutes. Gibraltar is 20 minutes and Sotogrande is only 35. Tarifa is worldwide known for being a great spot for kitesurfing and windsurfing. Other exciting activities include whalewatching, scuba diving, kayaking, hiking, horseriding
Outdoor activities may be arranged if you wish.
Morocco is only a 25 minutes ferry ride from Tarifa or Algeciras.
Water park nearby too.

"Nice place but too much noise with barking dogs!!!"
We stayed at Villa Jebel Musa in July 2011 for 1 week, this is a very nice place with amazing views of the ocean, but be warned!! there is NO air conditioning, the 4th bedroom is not a bedroom it is a… More
Thanks for your review, we want to improve our property and any suggestion by our guests is always welcome. Although, we have to say we are very dissappointed about the content of this review, taking into account that the last thing you told us is that you would like to come back. So this is something we can't understand.
In any case, we want to give an explanation point by point.
I have to say that the information on the website about the air conditioning in the house it is totally TRUE. Holydaylettings only gives you the option to check air con or not when you insert the advert, we clicked on the YES option, as there is a cooling system in the house. In our villa, there is no airconditioning as itself, but there is a floorcooling system powered by Sonnenkraft Solar Panels that keeps the floors cool all day. This system is more quiet and ecological than the airconditioning. In any case, it's clearly MENTIONED in the advert.
Regarding the barking of dogs, we are very impressed that you are our ONLY guest who has complained about that, the house has been rented since Easter. In any case, we did talk to the neighbour (owner of the dog) and complained about that. We have checked ourselves lately and it seems they have taken the hunting dogs away. In any case most houses in the neighbourhood don't have dogs. We have counted around 3 or 4 houses with dogs in the area, which is quite normal in Spain and I guess in every country.
The house has 3 bedrooms and an attic with a sofa bed, very confortable, and it seems to be the favourite room of our guests, as it is on the last floor, the views are incredible and has lots of privacy! That can be CLEARLY seen on the pics in holidaylettings so that we are not misleading anybody.
Regarding the glass doors,it is a good and easy system from the brand LUMON. You can google it and find out.
What happened is that you opened the windows without letting us explain how it worked. You broke one of the windows the first day that you entered in the house, and we had to send someone to fix it. We did not charge you for that. Let us also remind you that YOU WERE VERY GRATEFUL after fixing the chlorine problem in the pool. Again something we can't understand.
We are really sorry that you were dissapointed, but we'd have appreciated if you had mentioned as well the positive things that we did for you like reducing the initial price, letting you in the house before the checking time because you didn't know what to do with your kids for three hours, giving quick solutions to every single request that you had ALMOST DAILY and finally cleaning up the dirty house you left.
However, we understand that not everybody is the same and fortunately we receive reviews from other guests with quite different points of view.
