Mews Cottage is a delightful family holiday cottage set just yards from the popular beach front at Aldwick, Bognor Regis. Mews Cottage is a listed building and dates back to the 1840s. It is located on the prestigious Marine Parade estate, with its historic seafront Victorian Villas. The gated private estate offers the benefits of off road parking, beautiful views of the sea from the communal gardens and direct access to the seafront. The original seafront croquet lawn can now be used to sunbathe and enjoy the views of the coast or watch the on-goings of the neighbouring yacht club. It's great to watch the sailing and wind/kite-surfing or take to the water yourself if you're feeling active!

On the ground floor of the cottage is a good sized kitchen with built-in cooker, fridge, freezer and washing machine. In addition, there is a small utility room and WC. The living room has a dining area with seating available for 6 to eat at and there is also the sitting room area with TV/DVD. Wi-fi internet access is also available.

The first floor of the cottage has 3 bedrooms. There is a double bedroom, a room with twin single beds, as well as a bunk bed room. (Please note, the twin single beds are 6 foot beds). There is also a stylish bathroom on the first floor with a shower over the bath, wash basin and toilet. A travel cot is available at the cottage, as well as a high chair.

Outside, there is a small patio area to the front of the cottage. A wide path, private to the residents of the road, leads directly to the beach and the popular seafront promenade, running all the way from Aldwick to the far end of the village of Felpham to the east. There is also a seafront garden lawn, again private to the residents of the road, which can be used by guests at the cottage. Parking is available very close to the cottage on the private gravelled road.

The West Sussex region

Regarded as one of the sunniest spots in the UK, there is nor shortage of things to do in this area. There are numerous sporting activities in the area, including water sports, golf, horse racing and motor sports. There are a lot of historical places of interest to visit such as museums, monuments and castles and there are lots or pretty towns and villages nearby.

It doesn't matter if people want a quiet break or an active holiday, this location is equally suitable and it is also very accessible to major towns and cities.


Mews Cottage is ideally located for the amenities the local area has to offer. It is a short walk from the local shops on the Aldwick high street and is also within walking distance of Bognor Regis town centre and pier. The Butlins holiday resort is within easy reach along the seafront promenade and day visitors are more than welcome.

A little further afield are the historic cathedral cities of Chichester and Arundel. Both offer a wealth of interesting shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, as well as some historic sight-seeing and cultural attractions. The larger cities of Portsmouth and Brighton are also within easy driving distance or a train ride along the coast. Portsmouth is perhaps most famous for being home to the Royal Navy, whereas Brighton has the famous Royal Pavilion and a huge selection of independent shops. London is also within reach by train, with a direct service from Bognor Regis to London Victoria.

"Very good property in great location, just slightly let down by a few small things"

The location was near perfect, shame the parking was not allocated but wasn't an issue for us in the end. Property had everything we needed, but was let down by poor cleaning of kitchen cupboar… More

"Mews Cottage - Excellent Rental"

This detached cottage was absolutely perfect for myself, daughter and grandaughter. The location was superb, about 25 yards from the beach, yet close to the small stores, pubs and, & postoffice at Aldwick.

It had been recently renovated, Was extremely clearn and the booking agency was very helpful. i will be happy to rent the properby again, hopefully next year.

"Wouldn't recommend"

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with this property. The house needs a good clean there were cobwebs everywhere!!! The laundry room floor was filthy with dead insects everywhere. The windows are very old, dirty and tatty. The toilet seat was broken when we got there, which we thought they knew about as there was a sticker on it, but when we finished our holiday we had a call asking what we had done to it!!
If you are going to spend everyday out and just use the house for sleeping then ithe house could be passable as it's a nice location, sorry but we wouldn't return to this property...

Thank you for your review and we are sorry to read that you would not recommend Mews Cottage. The cottage is professionally cleaned before each guest arrives and so to hear that there were many cobwebs, etc. is surprising. We have not had any other comments about the standard of cleaning before or since, but it is useful to have this feedback.

With regard to the toilet seat, this was not reported to us as broken until after your stay. If you do ever come across anything that is broken at a rented property, it is always best to notify the management company or the owners of the cottage straight away, so they know it is broken and do not only find out about it after your departure. The sticker on the toilet when you arrived was a paper tag to show it had been cleaned.

Other than the cobwebs and toilet seat, I do hope that Mews Cottage suited your needs in other ways and if we can be of any assistance to you in the future, please do just let us know.
