The East Anglia region

The Suffolk Coast is packed with things to do and see. Aldeburgh itself is a busy bustling town with lots of restaurants, and varied retail outlets which include clothes shops, wine shops, art shops , book shops and Jewellery shops.

There are many places of historical interest which include Orford Castle, Sutton Hoo and Dunwich Museum.

For those who prefer something slightly more racy there is karting at Woodbridge and a ride out to sea on a power boat just like the life boatmen use in Southwold!

If you are feeling a little more reserved then Snape Concert Hall will provide you with soothing recitals or a more grand orchestral piece. Aldeburgh too has a vibrant music scene.

The icing on the cake is the Aldeburgh Carnival which usually takes place in mid August - a procession of floats, lantern parade and rounding off with fireworks on the beach. A wonderful finale.

Aldeburgh

The area of Aldeburgh and round about is coastal, predominantly flat. There are marshes and estuaries amongst the surrounding villages. Aldeburgh itself has many holiday homes, approx 1/3 of the town is made up of holiday residences - whether they be permanently let in season or used by owners purely as a weekend retreat or holiday home for themselves.

Aldeburgh sits as one of the most sought after coastal towns to live and life here is slower than the hustle and bustle of the city. The region enjoys a lovely fresh climate, mostly with a pleasant cooling sea breeze in summer but it can be quite hot in mid summer if the breeze coming from the sea is quite light. All in all a picturesque, quaintly English town by the sea.
