Alcudia / Port Alcudia area
The beach at Alcudia bay is one of the longest on the island. The area has become a very popular place, and is well suited for families with children.From the Port D'alcudia you can take boat trips around parts of the island and also catch a ferry to Menorca and also Barcelona, on a daily basis.The port has classier establishments lining the harbour. There are also nice shops along the harbour where you can buy porcelain, jewellery and the like. The harbour is pedestrianized and beautiful to walk along in the early evening. Every Sunday and Tuesday there is a market in the old town of Alcudia.All along the white sandy beach you can rent pedaloes, parasails, banana boats, tubes and the like. The sea is very shallow for a long time making it ideal for small kids, and there is little, if any, tide. There are also bars/restaurants at regular intervals right on the beach. As the beach moves south it gets quieter but the sea is less calm as you move south.
How to get there
Puerto de Alcudia is aprox. 55 km from the airport. There are always local taxis available - from airport Puerto de Alcudia around 60 euros.
