About the home

An attractive house, ideal for a family of all age groups or a couple seeking a quiet retreat yet with wifi access.A secure gated private road gives peace of mind and relaxation away from the busyness of the town below, yet within easy walking distance. There is plenty of space to enjoy with a secluded sun-terrace to the rear commanding great views overlooking the mountains and a front terrace with sweeping views over the sea. Less than 10 metres away from the shared (but never crowded) swimming and paddling pools. For those who enjoy tennis the court is just 30 metres from the door-step. It's only a short walk to the shops and Las Fuentes beach (ideal blue-flag beach for young children with sand and shallow sea). Parents can chill out at the beachfront tapas bar and soak up the atmosphere of this unique location.There's also a disco in the evenings for those wanting more nightlife. There are no high-rise buildings here to block the view! Alcossebre town offers plenty of shops, restaurants, coffee and tapas bars. The unspoilt surrounding countryside offers plenty of opportunities for walking and mountain biking.The long stretches of Blue Flag beaches (5) provide uncrowded beachside relaxation as well as water sports and fishing.

UK Satellite TV provided. Plenty of space for the whole family without feeling on top of each other. There are two shower-rooms and toilets and a large rear family room with a sofabed as well as the front sitting room.

Montesol is in a secure gated compound with no through traffic. You have use of the communal pool and tennis-court and availability is rarely a problem.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Costa del Azahar region

A temperate and balanced climate means the property can be enjoyed throughout the year. Alcossebre and Las Fuentes are uncommercialised resorts yet full of local character with plenty of amenities. The area is popular with Spanish, German and English holiday makers
The nearby resort of Peniscola boasts a fortress renowned throughout Spain as the home of El Cid and Papa Luna and there are many concerts performed in the fortress. Nearby Benicassim hosts an annual music festival.The surrounding unspoilt inland countryside offers plenty of scope for discovery with numerous fortresses on the hillsides. For those who wish to relax and soak up the sun the five Blue Flag beaches are a couple of minutes away by car and stretch some five miles along the coast. The superb nature reserve of Delta de L'Ebre offers some wonderful drives whilst local activities include water sports, fishing, walking and cycling and there are two international golf courses within easy access.

There are numerous tapas bars,ice cream/ coffee bars, restaurants and 2 discos. The beaches are well supported with surveillance, First Aid and facilities for the disabled. There is also trampolining and facilities for younger children on the beaches particularly at Las Fuentes as well as a beach bar for parents to relax in and know that the children are safe.

Fly to Valencia, Barcelona or Reus with cheap flights from Easy Jet, British Airways and Ryan Air.Very reasonable car hire available from Valencia and Reus airports.One hour by car from Valencia or Reus or 2 hrs from Barcelona to the house.Reasonable car transfers by our local agent from Benicarlo main railway station (E30 return), Castellon (E40 return) both accessible on the train from Valencia or Barcelona airports.

“Second stay at Monte Sol 17 even more enoyable.” Following our second stay to this comfortable quiet and private accommodation we have enjoyed it even more. Well positioned for town and beach easlily walked but a car for those less energetic. Uninterupted views front and rear. For those who enjoy a swim the pool is a good size only a few paces from the house. Excellent choice of restaurants at varying prices but we also enjoyed barbeques in the garden.

“Good location, wonderful views, lovely swimming pool” Had a super holiday with friends. Secure quiet location, beatiful pool for my morning swims (mostly all to myself), comfortable well appointed house, easy cycle down the hill to the town and a great way to explore the beeches. The weather was perfect too. Planning to go back soon.

“Quiet getaway with easy access if you want it to the town and beaches” We really enjoyed our stay at the house. The complex is very quiet and an excellent place to chill out and relax. Views over the med are stunning. The pool is just across the road- super convenient. It's about ten minutes downhill walk into town, which is similarly laid-back. The only down side is that it's a bit of a hike up the hill back at the end of the day, but it's easy to get a cheap taxi fare back if you're feeling tired. There are some nice bars and restaurants in town- we love sitting out on the promenade in Alcossebre with a glass of Sangria and a plate of tapas, just watching the world go by.

“Great holiday home for a small family!” I've stayed here twice with my husband and my daughter - in both baby and toddler forms! - and we had an amazing time. Alcossebre's a very laid back and charming town, and although we hired a car, we also walked down to the town and beach a few times too. As well as the main town beach there are a number of more secluded spots to seek out, too. The house was perfect fro our needs - situated directly over a private road (no problems with traffic as you need a transponder card to get in) from the lovely pool, which has such great views. We divided our time between swimming and playing in the pool and lying on the lawn beside it, and reading in the shade on the sun terrace outside the front of the house, with Wimbledon on TV in the background! A really relaxing break - would recommend and would go back.

The price quoted is paid in two instalments: the first is the rental payable 6 weeks prior to the start of your stay and the second, the service charge paid on arrival at the house to my local representative. A refundable deposit of £100 is required to secure the booking to be returned at the end of your stay on condition that the house is left in reasonable order with no breakages.All bookings are subject to a service charge of 19 euros per person (min charge 76 euros) and over a period of more than one week a charge of 8 euros for a clean laundry change. These charges are made to my local representative who is English and very helpful.Winter rates incur an electricity charge.
