4 of us stayed at this property in an extremely hot week in August. The property sits just outside of the main town centre but within a short distance of beaches and restaurants. We had been to Alcossebre several times before but had not stayed at this end of the town. The complex itself is really lovely with a choice of swimming pools and shady areas. The people holidaying there are predominately Spanish with a few French thrown in. The Spanish appear to mainly be owners and this makes for a nice community feel with lots of families knowing each other. This also means the pool areas can get very busy and noisy with children running around the pool areas. Best time for a swim and quiet time is when the Spanish are having their siesta! The property itself is OK to use as a base. It is quite basic and only has air conditioning in one of the bedrooms which was not made clear on the advert. We contacted the owner on our return about this and she said that she would change the advert. There are improvements that could be made to make the property really nice i.e improve the smell from the drains in the downstairs shower room, more lighting on the roof terrace for use in the evenings to BBQ. Put a proper canopy on the main patio so it can be used during the daytime when the sun is on it. There are lots of properties to rent in Alcossebre so we probably would try a different one if we go back there.
Patio canopy will be installed early summer 2013. During painting of complex in 2012, original canopy was removed by painters. There is lighting on roof terrace and candles are supplied for romantic feel. Occasional smell from shower drain is endemic in all of complex I am afraid. Fans are supplied for rooms with no AC but house very seldom needs AC and bedroom with no AC is north facing. August is the busiest time in all of Alcossebre and very different to rest of year.
